I-Mockery’s 2008 Secret Santa Event Sign-Ups Have Begun! Plus, Peppermint Ice Cream!

I-Mockery's 2008 Secret Santa Event! Sign up today or you won't even get any coal in your stocking!

Hey guys, just a quick ho-ho-ho-head's up for ya today. Our annual Secret Santa event on the forums has just begun, so if you'd like to participate in some good old fashioned holiday gift giving (and receiving) with other I-Mockery members, be sure to sign up in the thread! The earlier you sign up, the better... especially if you're a relatively new user since there are some verification steps you'll have to go through. And yes, if you live outside of the U.S. you can still participate in the event, no problemo. Furthermore, if you participated last year, all you have to do is follow the simple sign-up procedure and you'll be in. By the way, I'd like to extend a big thanks to Zomboid for helping keep the event organized this year.

The deadline for signing up is November 24th, so hop to it!

This is how Santa *really* packs on the pounds each holiday season.

On an unrelated holiday note, I just tried some Dreyer's "Limited Edition" Peppermint Ice Cream for the first time. Damn is this stuff good! You can bet your jolly little asses that I'll be filling up quite a few moose mugs with it over the next month and a half. I still need to track down their limited edition Pumpkin, Apple Pie and Eggnog holiday flavors though. Kinda sucks this stuff isn't available all year round.

So what holiday treats you guys are looking forward to in particular this year?

Welcome to the joy that is Peppermint ice cream. While i've never had eggnog flavored ice cream, im gonna go ahead and say that the peppermint is still the best flavor of the bunch (and one of the best ice cream flavors period for that matter).

And good luck to all ye who do secret Santa (I just don't feel capable of doing it, although it is quite tempting).

Thats funny, in Canada we have had Candy Cane Icecream and Egg Nog Icecream for a while, I guess it's cause we own the North Pole.

If that's the same apple pie that they usually have, it definitely kicks ass. Gotta try the peppermint though, that sounds good too.

I'm really hoping that the X-mas version of Cadbury Mini-Eggs makes another apperance!! It's so hard on my will-power to makes the bags I get at Easter last all year. Or all month.

Out here in the east U.S., we have Edy's that looks almost identical to that, but the words in the logo are changed. Or maybe that's the ice cream standard now. Have you noticed how it costs the same, but you get less now? Sneeeeaky.

Looking forward to the christmas day mashed potatoes. Shut up, they're not the same as thanksgiving potatoes

Looking forward to a glass of eggnog. ONE glass of eggnog. I both love and hate the taste of that stuff, so if I drink it more than once a year I'm liable to throw up.

I've only had the pupkin ice cream myself, and i thought it was pretty darn tasty.

I had a peppermint chocolate chip shake from Chik-Fil-A earlier today. It had crunchy bits of peppermint candy in it, and it was delicious.

Damn it. Just looking at the package of those things makes me drool and wanting to kill for one.

Moose mugs!

I heart eggnog candy.
Regular eggnog is crap to me.

as for LolThalis,
Cadburry had tainted milk powder scare,
remember? They might release something,
but it'll be alot less than normal I bet.

We mixed the Edy's Eggnog flavor into a recipe for Eggnog, it made it a lot creamier. Since the other ingredients were brandy, whiskey and rum, we figured another non-alcoholic element couldn't hurt. I would love to try the pumpkin ice cream, but the apple pie looks a bit scary.

Dreyer's is sold as Edy's in the east. Same exact stuff.

I had some Eggnog Gelato at whole Foods last year. My god that was good.

strait eggnog is usually too rich for my blood. The minute we had a carton in the house my dad would chug down a quarter of it then refill it with regular milk. SO I grew up with diluted eggnog.

The pumpkin ice cream makes every cup of hot chocolate magical.

Try it or miss out on the magic FOREVER.

Edy's (AKA Dreyer's) peppermint ice cream is one of the things that I need to have at least once to consider it a good holiday season. That stuff is gooooooddddd. Congrats on finally being converted to it.

My mom is Cajun and also makes some fantastic white sugar pralines as well.

Gahhh this site does more than any to remind me I live in a shithole of a state in the gulag of the midwest, where awesome products do not exist.. though knowing my luck they do, just not at the stores I go to T_T

kind of ironic how similar the names are but breyer's ice cream makes a few seasonal flavors as well. thats what my mom always bought us growing up

ColdFusion, i also live in the midwest, check out a Cub Foods or Aldi and you should be able to find some of these ice creams

Last year, Dairy Queen put out a Peppermint Chip Blizzard that I absolutely loved. I'm hoping it's going to come back this year. Of course, I love all of the blizzard flavors I've tried- I think they put something in them to addict you to them. I also wish that the Pumpkin Pie ones were avaliable October and November. MMM... And my homemade Pecan Pie. That stuff is GOOD!

Also, ColdFusion, as a fellow midwesterner, you can find those at Cub Foods, Aldi, and HyVee (though usually only the larger ones). I'm fairly sure that a Super Walmart would sell them also.

Also, Smokey the Bear is buried in Capitan, NM. I went there as a 5 year old and remember crying my eyes out over Smokey's grave. The irony is that there were forest fires not far from there that year- most of the people staying at our hotel were firefighters.

the peppermint ice cream kicks so much ass, it needs to go to a planet that HAS no ass, spawn some, wait for it to fully develop and mature, just so it could kick it properly!
(yeah, it that good!)

The Pumpkin Pie flavor is really good.

I went by Jack In The Box yesterday and lo they have Pumpkin Pie and Eggnog flavored shakes.

I love those!

I also cannot wait for the Bob's candy canes to start appearing on the shelves. Yeah, there are so many different kinds now, but Bob's original are the best.

That's the holidays to me.
