To me, people talking about the "eclectic" and "experimental" qualities of modern music are like those people who pretend to enjoy Absinthe so they'll look smart and cultured, even though it tastes awful and kills huge parts of their brain. Ditto here for the music, since as far as I'm concerned, they stopped making good mainstream music somewhere around the invention of the Synthesizer.
