Synopsis: In Phantom Fighters, you play the role of Kenchi, kung fu dude. With him always is his useless, nameless, man servant . We'll call him the Gimp. Kenchi and the Gimp travel from town to town, smacking ass where needed. At the beginning of the game, Kenchi and the Gimp arrive at a town and some guy, the mayor probably, comes up and begs them for help. Begs like a bitch. Apparently the undead, called Kyonshies, are bouncing into peoples houses and fucking thing up. It's up to you to kick them in their heads.
You go from house to house, kicking and punching the hopping zombies. Thats pretty much it. You suck at the beginning, but you get new moves along the way. To get these skills you need to collect ancient scrolls. You get scrolls by whopping zombie tail. When you get a few, go to the studio(long, one-level wooden building).Inside the studio, a fat guy will tell you lessons ain't for free. When you say that you understand, he'll ask you a question, to "test your knowledge". Answer correctly and go on to meet the Master. He'll teach you moves in exchange for scrolls. There are mystical items as well. Talisman: Freezes enemies. Tonten: Knocks zombies on their ass with a flash of light. Sword: Knocks'em down, you can also slice with it. Bell: Controls the zombie kid.
I know that there are a lot of problems in this game. The graphics stink, the game play is as stiff as the zombies, and the music is shit. Pure shit. But I loved this game as a kid and I play it still.
