Synopsis: A few things have always confused me about the TMNT. I always thought that if you touched radiation your teeth and hair fell out, and you died a slow and painful death.
According to the makers of TMNT, however, it seems that touching radiation will turn you into a super sized crime fighting machine with a desire for pizza and no genitals. And what the fuck was up with Splinter??? Why the hell would a mutated rat give a shit about being a ninja?? He's a rat for fuck's sake!!!?!?! And why the hell did the ninja turtles bother wearing those colored bandanas?? Did they expect to be mistaken for some other group of sewer dwelling, crime fighting turtles??
The storyline of the game makes even less sense. It seems that after the demise of Shredder, a new enemy has arisen, and the crime fighting turtles must do battle with a series of shiny new mutants. In story mode, you can choose either of the four turtles each with their chosen weapon (question: If Donatello was so fucking smart, why didn't he invent himself a gun????). But the game really gets going in tournament mode, where you do battle with your enemies (including the other turtles) for money. Apart from the fact that this game makes about as much sense as a man juggling potatoes whilst singing "spank me good times with a bag of turnips", it is still a damn fine game. The fighting is cool, the characters look good, and the gameplay is great. It isn't the most original of games, but is a lot of fun.
