Synopsis: One of the best 2 player games for the Genesis due to the originality and simplicity of it.
General Chaos is a game about 2 opposing armies fighting each other again and again using different kinds of soldiers. You've got your gunner (machine gun), launcher (rocket launcher), chucker (grenades), scorcher (flame thrower), and blaster (bundles of explosives). There are different teams of them separated into squads of 5, so you can pick what team you like the most. You move your men around with a cursor and you can position them anywhere on the battlefield. There's things you can hide behind and things you can trip over though, so you'd be better off using a little strategy as opposed to just placing your men anywhere. If that's not your thing, there's a commando team instead of the 5-person squad. There are 2 of them and you can control them a lot better than the regular squads, but it's not always a good idea because you can die a lot easier. Single player mode consists of several of those battles as you take over the small map.
There's 4 modes of play. There's single player, 2 player head to head, 2 player side by side, and boot camp. Boot camp is simply a "training mode" for anyone new to the game and I'd recommend it to first time players. 2 player side by side is just what it says it is. You and your partner each get a commando team and go against a regular enemy squad. It's the one me and my friends always preferred, but some people like going against each other, and that's what 2 player head to head is for. You each pick your team like you would in single player and play against each other. Pretty fun for a decent sized group of people, but gets boring with a small group. Not that it matters anymore though, seeing as how most people can only play it on their computer.

Mediocre graphics, even for Genesis. It's pretty much the only thing that could really be improved.

Cool little tunes for this type of game and they only get annoying after playing too much.

Pretty original game, especially for Genesis and I haven't seen anything like it since.
Overall: 8
One of my favorite Sega games, but it's near the bottom of the list.
