Title: Beavis & Butt-head
Author:Torus
Rom Player: GT Interactive
Reviewer: Angryhydralisk (huh huh huh, angry.)

Synopsis: You know, I thought the SNES version of this game was pretty mediocre, but the Game Boy version is amazingly worse. Even with Beavis cussing out a fence, killing classmates with spitwads and playing breakout with his head, butt, and nads.

I don't know when exactly this game was released, but I assume it was made based on the high-point of the series. The plot of the game isn't anything like the other versions, where you fight with everything you've got to see the mighty GWAR in person. In this game, Todd is sent to jail. Beavis & Butt-head want to bust him out convinced that if they do, Todd will let them join his gang. However, they have to cut detention, go to work via the sewers, go to the big city, and then go to jail to bust out Todd.

Sadly, this game blows pretty badly. Each level has you play as one of the two dimwits trying to get from one location to another in a Zelda-esque angle. There is one level where you do go in typical 2-D fashion (It's a sewer level and, yes, it's just as frustrating as the Genesis version). The worst part is it plays like Gremlins 2 on the Game Boy, where you have to find a weapon to defend yourself. This is not only annoying, but it makes the password option utterly worthless. It's nice to know that Beavis and Butt-head have no clue how to punch or scale fences that are no taller than they are!

Occasionally, you find items like coins (which serve no purpose othe than to advance from one spot and play a mini-game) and stronger weapons that come in unknown limited amounts. Anyways, the game is frustrating and boring. You can see the ending coming a mile away if you've watched the show and it brings no satisfaction or closure so you're beating the game for a meaningless cause.

The in-game graphics pretty much suck but try their best to somewhat capture the characters of the show. Cutscene graphics, however, are somewhat decent and do a better job trying to grab the vibe of the show a bit better. The sound is typical GameBoy garbage and really has little going for it.

Overall, as bad as some of the games in this series was, I doubt they were as lousy as this version. Though I still find it funny that Beavis starts cursing a fence for being unable to scale it despite it's size.

Best Cheats: Pong/Break-Out Mini-game

In level 6, if you have any money from the previous levels, then you can find a machine to play this minigame for $.25. Ironically, this game within a game is probably more entertaining then the actual game itself.
