Title: Bloody Wolf
Author:Data East
Rom Player: Hugo
Reviewer: ItalianStereotype

Synopsis: Ok. If you enjoyed games like Contra or Cabal, or consider mass extermination via a hail of ballistics a hobby, you will PROBABLY like Bloody Wolf.

The story behind this game is simple and trite, the President has been kidnapped and you, as one of two commandos, have to wade through hordes of grunts to get him back. It is a tired premise, but that is not where this game is supposed to shine. The sole purpose of Bloody Wolf is violence. Itís all about the glorification of gore, the celebration of slaughter, and the commemoration of carnage. All you do is kill. Unfortunately, this game still turns out simply adequate.

Graphics-The graphics are....average. They are no more spectacular than anything you could expect on a Turbo, which may or may not be due to the technological limitations of the day. But this is still no excuse for how dull everything looks in the game. The game environments are mostly uninspired and your enemies are all the colors of the rainbow. Plus, the size of some of the characters MAY cause some slowdown in the game.

Game Play-The control in this game is fairly decent, if a little simplistic. All you do is let loose with one of the weapons in your small arsenal until all that is left is the quivering carcasses of your foes. Not overly complex. The only time things get cumbersome is if you decide to use two weapons at once. This requires you to use the "Run" button and it gets too annoying to be of any real use.

Music-The tracks fit the levels pretty well, but are somewhat boring overall.

Originality-Pssh, are you kidding? This game is completely unoriginal, especially if you are a Contra fan.

Overall-This is just an average run and gun game, nothing more or less. If you expect another Contra you will be SORELY disappointed, but if you are just looking for a way to kill plenty of people, this isn't a bad way to do it.

Personally, I wouldn't spend money on this game, it just isn't that great.
