Part 1: "For
the Love of God"

(Originally presented in Uncanny X-Men #9 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby)
Welcome to what I hope
will become a regular new feature by yours truly, what I call "Protocomics".
Though I had two other comic redubs appear on the site already, one for
Thanksgiving and one for Christmas, sort of "proto" Protocomics, if you
will, this is what I consider to be the first "official" one in the
ongoing series.
I plan on parodying all sorts of comics, from Marvel, DC, and others. I
hope they'll be good sports about it, because it's all in good fun, and
I sincerely love the comic industry. I'm also going to be sure to credit
the original source material so you can track it down if you're curious
to see the unmangled version.
I'm not normally going to preface these with a big speech, but this one
is different because it's the first. So allow me to say two things
before I present you with the comic:
First, I want to say that I'm a big fan of Jay Pinkerton's redubbed
comics, and it's his hilarious work that inspired me to even try this in
the first place. If you've never seen his stuff before, you owe it to
yourself to check it out.
And secondly, if you like comics, for the love of god, SUPPORT THE
INDUSTRY! Comics are doing better than they have since the crash in the
1990s, but they still depend an awful lot on your support. Your
downloading or borrowing a book that has flagging readership instead of
buying it can make the difference between it continuing and being
canceled.
