My favourite Bungle album. I don't understand why it gets such a bad rep for not being as wacky as the first two.

It's absolutely brilliant, how anybody couldn't like this album is beyond me.

I would like the music a little more if it weren't for the dogmatic fans.
I'm not really talking about the male fans. Most of Patton's male fans either like the music and leave it at that or are a little dogmatic but if ignored they will go away. The female fans however...
Not all of the female fans are dogmatic. But when they are they are like locusts. They will hound at you and say they will kill you if you don't think Director's Cut is the greatest thing since sliced bread. If they are ignored they just get worse and worse until you can't take it anymore and you smash your head against the pavement.
Then again that could go for any fan. Slipknot, ICP, Monty Python, The Beatles, The Misfits, Metallica, ACDC, Judas Priest, the list goes on.

I've never understood people who judge a band based on their fans. A band should be judged solely on their music, and your enjoyment of said music shouldn't be influenced by the fans of the band in any way.
Every band has fans that are just way too over the top and annoying, but that's not gonna make me enjoy the band any less. The only place where annoying fans could be a factor is if you're seeing the band live.

Egg - Zactly.
It annoys the shit out of me whenever I ask somebody about a band they claim to not like, and I get the response "the people that listen to that shit are tools, man!" Fuckin' Idiots I say.

I agree with you guys.
It's tough to pick a favorite Bungle album, but this one is absolutely brilliant. I guess it's either this one or the first one for me, though Disco Volante does kick ass.

I wasn't judging the band. I was just saying I'd enjoy them more if the fans weren't so annoying.
Judging them would be saying "Mr. Bungle sucks because of the fucking idiot fans.".

But again, how do the annoying fans have an effect on how much you enjoy the band?

California is 20 pounds of wonderful in a 15 pound bag, but I think Angel Dust is the definitive Patton album.

I just started listening to Mr. Bungle and i have to agree. This cd has barely left my cd player in my car (only taken out for other bungle cds, mind you) for the past 2 months. :(

I distinctively remember you saying that you do not enjoy monty python as much as you would if it weren't so oversaturated in the media and by the fans. I'm glad to see this is no longer the case.

No, I never found Monty Python to be hilarious to begin with. A few funny moments here 'n there, but other than that, meh...
I did know a lot of people who quoted them constantly, but that never had an effect on what I thought of Monty Python. What *did* have an influence on my lack of interest in Monty Python was the video stores that I worked at where they *constantly* played Monty Python on the TV. Same for Nightmare Before Christmas.
Just saw them all too many times to care about 'em... overkill.
