The only other MMORPG i've played is SWG. I liked it at first, but then it got tedious, and it didn't seem like it was worth the 14$ monthly charge.

but i won't get it because i've seen some of the "coolest" people from my childhood drop out of school for Everquest then like become shut ins and big gay fags...one of them's eyes like cant adjust to the light of day anymore because he sits in front of his monitor for like weeks on end and it runined his eyes :(

Checked with other beta users and doesn't look like anyone has gotten it yet. Should've kept the beta HDD if they were just lying to us. Will have to wait and see.

sadly, all my gamer friends play DAOC, so I'm reluctant to buy into XI or WoW, and I don't really feel like paying for more than one at a time.

Everquest only did because it was revolutionary for the time.
It's biggest competition was Ultima Online.

EQ is past it's time. And the Graphics involved with EQ2 are so vast, only the top notch machines can run them smoothly.
WoW is being designed cartoonish so lower end machines can run them smoothly.

Also, SOE is just a bunch of Dumbass Bastards. They butchered SWG, and will do the same with EQ2.

I had to quit that one cause I wasn't playing it enough. Had a level 20 Ranger and my main was a level 27 bez on palimodes.


I was knee deep in UO madness when EQ was released so I didn't give it much of a chance. Played EQ for only about a month before quiting back when it came out. It didn't have the same effect on me as UO did, so I stopped playing (heck now I play way too many mmorpgs). I still love UO. My ethereal swamp dragon is finally mine.

On a FFXI note, I didn't get to log on last night but been playing it pretty frequently. I'm only level 11 (warrior job so far) but have been finishing up quests/missions and getting conquest points. I'll have some time tonight to play so I'll be getting to 13. I play on the Ramuh server and my character is named Grimnir.

Yeah I signed up for WoW beta but didn't get anything back. What I was referring to in this thread was that I got FFXI for free since I participated in the beta testing of that game/hdd.
