So I was at work yesterday when I fixed a flat tire for this woman. It was no big deal, I just pull the nail out of the tire and stick in a special gummed plug thing and the tire once again holds air. We don't charge people for little bullshit things like that but we expect a tip now and then. I bring the womans car down off the lift and go into the lobby to tell her its done. The cashier says to her "No charge ma'am, but if you would like to tip the mechanic that would be great." she then says "OK", turns, looks right at me and walks out. Not a thank you or nothing.
Cunt. I should mention it was a brand new Lexus so it ain't like she was hard up for money.

A mechanic you say? What would you charge to replace a bumper on a 2001 Saturn SL? I kinda dented my parent's. :(

The bumper valance costs anywhere from $270 to $400, depends on who you buy it from. If you have somebody paint it but you install it yourself, the whole project would cost about $550 (just a ballpark figure). I would highly recomend you have somebody install it since airbag sensors are integral with the bumper on saturns ( :( ) and it would look like shit if it's not aligned right.

I feel for you Evil Robot. It really is easy to say thankyou.
Some nonce at the bus stop today says "Hey mate can I borrow 40c for a bus ticket? I need to get home."
So I say "no worries mate" and give him 50c, then he says "actually can I have another 70c? I need to pay for my girlfriend."
I say "sorry I only have enough for..." And cuts me off and bellows "COME ON SHARON THIS IS OUR BUS!" And Sharon flicks her cig away and they get on the bus. DESPITE not having enough for a bus ticket but also enough for smokes. Fuck off.
People that don't say thankyou should be punched.

ER, do you know any sites I could plug a VIN number into to get information on a vehicle?
Also, will a VIN number tell you the car's color?

I can find out if you tell me what the make and model is. Don't bother with carfax if all you want is the color.

I need the color cause I need to replace the driver's side mirror. But I'll also need to know how to do that, exactly, when I get the part. I'll get the VIN number tomorrow or something.
Evil Robot

When you get the part pick up a service manual (Chiltons or Haynes). That has a section on decoding VINs and should also tell you how to replace the mirror. You pretty much can't do shit without one of these books.
