I hope to find the full transcript to this at some point, but here is one snip I really enjoyed:
"Cheney also implied that if elected, Kerry would be beholden to "unnamed foreigners" in determining U.S. policy -- a reference to Kerry's assertion that some foreign leaders hope he defeats Bush in November."
LOL! It's Al Smith all over again! I'll give Cheney credit, that was clever. In the very same speech he condemns Kerry for criticizing the pro-war coalition, and then turns and says that Kerry will be beholden to Europe. The Vice-President of course neglected to mention how prominent cabinet members, particularly Rumsfeld, routinely attacked "old Europe" for not jumping on the war gravy train....

Who was the guy who said to Senator McCarthy "Have you no shame sir? Have you at last no shame?"
Cause we need that guy.

This is different but similiar and I'm too lazy to post the link but I think it's also clever, if it was planned, to drop the CIA video of bin Laden nonsense too.
If it was a purely coincidental link, than someone in the CIA blows nuts for releasing the video in the first place. But the timing makes me suspicious.
Suddenly in the midst of election season this video pops up showing what is likely bin Laden and naturally begs the question "If we could see him, why didn't we kill him" line. But of course, the video just happens to be shot BEFORE Dubya took office so clearly it was all those damn dirty Democrats fault. You know like Bill Clinton. Like John Kerry. Those softies.
It just seems suspicious that such a highly classified tape would surface now when it serves as such a tool for the administration to place blame elsewhere. "Gee, it isn't our fault. Look what we inherited. Damn Clinton could have killed him YEARS ago, before 9/11 even. It's not OUR fault!".

I think the Al Qaeda has roots that stem back to the ill feelings from unifinished business we had left in supporting Afghans against the (then) Soviet Union in the 1980's.

I heard the speech and think it's something that will begin to energize Bush's base and put an end to Kerry's honeymoon.

I agree. Inane charges always energize the republican base.
It's like dangling red meat in front of pit bulls.
It's also very distracting. Sort of the way a magician will set off a lot of flash powder so you watch the explosion and miss what he's doing with his hands.
