You could get slaves, kill children and women, be a porn star, get a wife and sell her into slavery, massacre whole cities, and get a pet dog. This was my favorite rpg back in its hayday. They need to make a Fallout3.

>: Rumor mill says that they're working on it, making it 3-D (though not sure about what perspective), and losing the turn based system. >:

When they say 3-d they just mean using a 3-d engine while keeping the original 3rd person perspective. The only reason they're going to do that is to make the animation and equipment changes easier. (In the old engine they had to hand draw every animation for every type of armor and gun combination).

I also heard that you'll have the choice of playing turn based or real time.

Of course its all rumors. :/

I hope that they don't use 3D models for the new one, they wont look as good as the original Fallouts. Tactics was great too, although it was a bit out of the lines of Fallout, still great though. Fallout: Tactics is supposed to be coming out for the PS2 though. Turn based and real time will most likely be an option if the new Fallout comes out.

My computer is so bad that it wouldn't support either of the Fallouts. My computer is so old that none of the new video cards fit in it so I'm stuck with a 4MB graphics card. Where can I get a new cheap computer or order the parts to build one?

Fallout was fuckin' rad. The two games were like a big nonlinear buffet of RPG ass-kicking. I hate RPG's now because none of then are like Fallout. The gritty sheer crappiness of the world in which it took place was a really thought-provoking setting, and the ability to do whatever you want made it that much better.

Anyone ever do the blow-up-the-kid trick?

No, I was too busy pimping my wife, starring in a porn, getting a drug addiction, burst firing children in the back, and buying slaves.

I can't describe how much fun this game is. :)

edit: YOU COULD PUNCH A HOLE IN PEOPLE'S CHESTS FOR CHRIST SAKES! RPGs do not get better than Fallout2. Its the realism of the violence and filth that makes it so enjoyable.

Did anyone play Wasteland, from back in the day? It's what the Fallouts are based on. Wasteland is still one of my favorite games, and was like #9 out of PCGamer's top 150 games of all time a few years ago, which is great considering the game came out in 1987 (I believe).

I played Wasteland, but couldn't really get into it. It was just too ghetto. :/

But the Fallouts do rule.

Yeah, I finished fallout yesterday and it's one of the best games I've ever played. I've been playing fallout 2 and it's pretty good so far. Slave runs :love

Well, now, perhaps it is. But I was playing when it came out in 1987 on my 8088. :) At the time, it owned. Fallout is essentially the same great storytelling and gameplay with better graphics.
