Mothman prophesies

I heard this from my physics teacher about this monster called mothman and it had something to do with the bible.
He was mutterng about it while he was on his computer .
He said and I quote "Damn that mothman. Its all happening" I said "whats all happening sir" "mothmans coming havent you read the bible?" I said "No sir Im atheist" and he says "Oh well you'll be one of the first"
Now what the hell does that mean, whos mothman , and why will I be one of the first?
It doesnt make sense and since when does the bible (or the one i've heard of) Include giant man moths that devour your eternal soul?

Ok the mothman is an entity unknown to science It is often explained as a cryptid (such as the thylacene) or more commonly is explained as something of the paranormal. It was sighted numerous times in different places, the Movie "Mothman Prophecys" is loosely based on events in a small town in the US where the silver bridge DID infact collapse but was due to shitty building the mothman also has a cousin or relative known as the Freiburg Shreiker that saved sevral minersin german by not letting them into the mine thye were digging out and bofore it left it collapsed. I could run down the Mothman but i'll say this as I don't think there is a GREAt possibillity of it being a physical entity but i do doubt its existense even though it HAS called people.

Was your teacher on anything when he started talking about the mothman?
Like ArrowX said, the movie is based on a real event. There were 3 prophecies made by the mothman:
I don't remember exact details, but one prophesy (about the pope) never came to pass, the second one did (foretold JFK's assasination), and the third one predicted a nation-wide power outage. Instead, a bridge collapsed.
