Just the other day, I was delivering a couple of letters to people at work, so I was running around saying, "Speedy Delivery! Speedy Delivery!"

I believe I'll have to rush home and change into my cardigan sweater. Out of respect for Mr Rogers, I'll be a good neighbor today.
Maybe now they'll release a bunch of classic episodes on DVD. Sometimes capitalism has its rewards.

There is no surer sign we are on the brink of disaster than removal of Fred Rogers from the world stage at a time like this.

He's not related to me, but people always used to ask if he was :tear

Ever since the first time I remember seeing that show, I've always wanted to run in his house and tip the fishtank over. HAHAHAH! But now, since he's dead, I don't think it will be as fun.

He helped educate generations of kids. And he didn't talk down to them or dress up in a retarded purple dinosaur outfit.

Its not a lovely day in the neighborhood.

PS: Is it true he was a Marine Corps sniper?

That's one of the many problems of being sexually abused, you think everyone is a predator.

I couldn't stop screaming hysterically and sobbing uncontrolably when I heard the news. I trashed my office pretty good. Five co-workers had to douse me in pepper spray and hold me down until I got it together. A sad day indeed. :(

In the name of Mr Rogers, we will kill you one of these days.

Why would Mr. Rogers be a pedophile? His show was one of the only children's shows that really didn't have children in it. There were childrens in that puppet kingdom thing (I always fucking hated those idiot puppets >:) and sometimes during his field trips you might see a kid or something, but he was always talking to the camera.

I never really appreciated Mr. Rogers until I was about 18 :(

Anybody who hates Mr. Rogers is a dumb, ignorant fuck :(. His program was the only children's show I actually liked. Fuck that purple fraud Barney, Mr. Rogers was a god among men :tear.

The intro to his show was the whole reason I got into model railroads, which led me to model building, which eventually led to nothing.

Here (http://www.indigo.org/mrrogers.html) is a link to the commencement speech he made at Dartmouth college last year, I think it does an excellent job of summing up precisely what kind of man Fred Rogers was.

And to think, students there were protesting him being chosen to give the speech that year. Apparently the more protest-hungry wanted a well-known civil-rights protestor to be the one giving the speech, while some others just wanted someone 'cooler'.

Reading his speech struck me hard, it put into perfect clarity that his real gift was a genius for imparting higher concepts and moralities in deceptively simple ways. I'm fairly certain that, had I pestered him with a letter asking for advice in leading a good life, he would have given me advice that would have proven invaluable. And now I won't have the chance. It's like being some poor sucker who had something he meant to ask Jesus, but decided to put it off just one weekend too long.[/url]

You left out Shining Time Station (I believe). After watching him on HBO, seeing George Carlin on a children's TV show left me a bit preturbed. And amused.

I should just come to I-Mockery for all my news. I've been so wrapped up in Mardi Gras madness that I didn't even know he was dead until about 5 minutes ago. Sad.
