Rongi said "aroused" :lol I bought KIll bill 1 and a watched it for the first time and it was ok but not as good as I expected. I think I enjoyed the animation more than the rest of the movie :/

I hate to say it but i put the movie on a pedastal and it fell a bit short. Alotta of the times someone go their head chopped off looked fake, but i'm ignoring it because i can't figure out how it could possible look in real life. And the Music is some of the best i've heard in any movies

I love the story, though, and i hope it finishes off good. I still don't regret buying the DVD. I have to go to our schools vshow on friday but hopefully we can sneek some time in to see the movie....

The animated part was ok. I liked it better than other animes i've seen. Some one told me it was suppose to be a real scene in the movie but was too bloody or something, so they animated it. :/

My brother bought the dvd. I think there is one part where it was color that I remember in the movie where they changed to black and white. I think it might have been too gory or something. :-/ It was a pretty solid movie except from the anime part though. At least the next one won't have it. :(

ok but not as good as I expected.

Dear God, you a moron.

A friend brought a pirated version, perfect DVD rip, into school 2-3 weeks ago. Right into the media design and production class.
And of course, we watched it, then watched it again, and fucking analyzed the shots.

It has some of the best cinematography we have ever seen.

The part when Uma is in the bathroom, look at the shot as the camera pulls out, down the hallway, into the mainroom, flying uptoward the rafters, to follow Sofie (O-Ren's assistant) and then continue back through the hallway and into the bathroom is freaking amazing. That is one continous shot, and only through tricky work with the crew, a ceiling guide arm, and some nifty sets and electronic works does that thing work.

Or the final fight with O-Ren out in the garden. That is one fucking beautiful shot. The snow falling, the Japanese art...

The combo of the Old Western style music mixed with Traditional Japanese styles was amazing, and the animation sequence broke the film up into excellent bite sized pieces.

But I guess some of you morons wouldn't understand perfection unless it rammed itself up sideways in your ass.

Every cheesy look in that movie was made to look that way. Like the old Japanese Samurai movies of yesteryear, which is where Tarantino got the inspiration for the movie itself. (Mixed with Old Westerns)

It's not like i don't think the movie is fuckin amazing, i just thought some things weren't godlike like everyone was saying. The story is unbeleivable, the music is the best in any movie, the action is beyond kickass, the cinematography owns all others (with the room to room top angle among others) and however else i can suck tarentinos cock about this movie. But i stick by the 3 things i dont like about the movie >:

My friend told me that they would have the animated scene acted out by actors on the dvd because it got cut out, thats all i was saying. i know tarentino movies are bloody and violent >:

If you haven't seen it watch the credits there the best in any movie...

Don't read ahead if you haven't seen the 2nd one yet, cuz i guess i'd accidentally spoil stuff...

There is no way they split the movies because of the gore. Three people died in the 2nd volume none of which in a bloody fashion like the crazy 88's. >:

The two movies were very polarized, one had tons of action little story and the other had tons story and less gory action. I saw a ton of symbolism in the movie, including how you can't judge one movie to the other with elle asking budd about the two hanzo swords. I really want to buy the second dvd now, just so i can sit at home and watch the whole thing through.

I loved the buried alive sequence when she is in the coffin with the black and white, filtered, shot. You can feel the panic and the extreme fear of being buried alive, eventhough you're sitting next to people you can feel the

It took me a while to get the exact motif of the movie, it was right around the training sequence with pai mai that i got it.

The fights were really concentrated, The only one that was sort of drawn out was with elle. I really wanted to see a long and artisitic fight with bill, but instead it consisted of about 8 lightning fast actions and 20 minutes of dialouge after .

I really found the movie hilarious at times, with the bb watch "Shogun Assasins" with the bride, Elle getting her eye pulled out, the school roll call and the five finger heart explosion technique. The credits were the funniest ever, in any movie.

The only problem i had was that the whole first movie antagonized bill, but it was completely switched around in the 2nd from the first scene where the bride is talking to bill. Bill did nothing perticularly evil, after the el paso masacre, to make you feel like he was deserving of the revenge that he was going to get. He even seemed to be justified at the end where he's explaining his action. In the end you actually didn't want bill to die but he did anyways.

All in all it was a terrific movie, the two movies balance action and story out perfectly. It takes a while to understand the directing and the incredible genius in the story. If i had any money left i'd buy the soundtrack to it too but i'm basically broke now...

Pai mai Is the best character ever :love

Vol. 2 was a much better film than Vol. 1, even though they are both excellent. I just loved all the different styles Tarantino brought to Vol. 2 instead of the more singular focus of Vol. 1. Vol. 1 was about Oren, not the Bride, and finally we get a movie about the Bride and Bill, this is what I wanted to see. Also, the dialouge was up to the same hilarious level of Pulp Fiction, even if some of it felt a tad forced. I have to see it again, and I need to see it back-to-back to fully measure it up. They were very different though, so I can see how it was right to splice it up.

Rez

thats the only link i saw to it... i thought revealing the name might let that line make more sense instead of letting it remain something just badly written, but there isnt much there except it being mildly clever.

*shrug*

i think the name-bleep is just one of those things tarantino liked from his movies.

Ninjavenom
Apr 19th, 2004, 04:32 PM
I thought it was just for her to remain mysterious until volume 2 came out. I know he did it for kicks, but i think The Bride is a pretty cool name for a heroine. Not that Beatrix Kiddo isn't (that's really an awesome name, too) but The Bride gives her a superhero kinda vibe.

the_dudefather
Apr 20th, 2004, 12:23 PM
i assumed the bleeping of the name thing was a tribute to movies where the main characters name is never revealed. (like the good the bad and the ugly....i think)

im going to see it on friday, one of my flatmates says the first part 'was crap', so i wonder if he will bother going...

anecdote: on the way to the cinema to see vol: 1, i fell and badly sprained my ankle going down a precarious hill, not like that stopped me going to see it or anything. (imagine what it was like when uma therman commands the audience to 'wiggle your big toe')

Sam
Apr 20th, 2004, 01:57 PM
I think the part about bleeping out her name had something to do with the superhero speech that Bill gives at the end.

I learned that in the Japanese version, during the battle with the Crazy 88's where she pulls out the eye and everything goes black and white, that it's in color there, but I think they made it black and white for the US because they use a lot of water for blood, and some scenes look like they are just spouting clear water.

It is for rating reasons. They used to show kungfu movies in black and white on TV in the 70s and 80s, so they could get the blood past the censors.

Tarantino has yet to do an audio commentary for any of his films.

if only i could watch shogun assassin when i was 4 :(

the result from slipping the movie in 2 means that vol 2 takes a while to get going (mainly because the oren ishii fight would of been a few minutes ago)..

the shot where the camera moves from the top of the trailer to under it was pretty cool.

Comrade Rocket
Apr 25th, 2004, 05:22 PM
I actually just found out that they left out like 2 chapters, one they actually filmed and the other was only in concept.

The one they filmed can actually be seen in the original trailer. It shows a scene with a black man in some kung fu outfit swinging around a sword. It was left out of the movie, but it was suppost to be a fight like the crazy 88 fight, only it was Bill killing everyone and it would add so much to his character. You really would see he was suppost to be the deadliest man in the world but instead the only fighting you get to see Bill do is a cheapshot at Beatrix, and then some superfast move.

The other chapter that was left out was a shoot-out with Go-go's sister, named Yuki Yubari, in some suburbs. They never flimed it because they put so much of Yuki into Go-go that they would basiclly be the same character.

I can only hope that they will release a DVD that has both volumes with all cut out film included in.

ALso, does anyone know where i can find the Kill Bill Script?
