I have started a new acne medication called Differin (sp?) gel. Unfortunately, the medication can cause unseen lesions to become visible when you first begin to use it, and that's just what happened. Although my acne isn't horrible, I'd prefer to smash it back down before taking the pic.

None of the new acne is fully developed acne vulgaris, so I might be able to post a pic during the week.

You probably won't notice a difference with Differin unless you had bad acne. That medication will probably make it worse for a week or two.

After deciding not to take acutane I tried Neutrogena oil-free acne wash and it works better than anything i've ever tried. Maybe i'm just finished with the acne stage of life.

I doubt anyone will like your pic whether you have acne or not.

Oh no, what rotten luck. This was worth making a thread for. Instead of posting it in the Post Your Picture Here thread.

I think you will all be suprised by how I look.

And yes, I do naturally have bad acne. I have been taking a Peroxide, but the Doc said I could take Differin in addition to the other medication if I wanted more control.

If by supirsed you mean my jaw dropping and me saying "Can a human being really be that fat without his flesh just falling right off his bones?"

I can photoshop your photo for you for $2.00 :)

I used to have the worst acne. I was using topical retin A for years in the mid 90s, and it didn't help a bit. Then they put me on minocyclin or minocyn or whatever it was called. It did nothing but make me poop my eyes out and get nauseous every waking hour. I also got UV treatments and whatever else was available back then.

Finally, I had an appointment with the same dermatologist as a check up, but he cancelled and they redirected my appointment to an old old crotchety doctor. He said, "So you're using all of these meds and topical solutions and special soaps and nothing has worked? Why don't you throw it all away and buy some Dial soap and use nothing else." I said, "but it will give me dry flaky skin." and he was like, "Yeah? what do you want, acne or dry skin?"

So I tried it. Dial soap. Non-scented, white, plain Dial bar soap. It worked. Within weeks. 10 years later, I still get the occasional zit, but it stopped the severe stuff. And, yeah, my face is dry still, but whatever. I can use moisurizer on that.
