Why should we blame the guy who actually drops the gas on his people? Thats so old fashioned. What we need to to do is find as many people to blame, or find as big a target as possible to blame.

Thats how we do things in this country.

And if a kid deals drugs to another kid, we should ONLY punish the kid who sold the drugs, not the person they got them from.

So you want to punish the cops who enforce the laws these kids break?

Do you have any idea how many dual use chemical agents exist? We've given the very same materials to many nations who haven't used them for that purpose.

Again, this is like the hand in the cookie jar theory. It isn't a crime until it backfires in your face.

Sell chemicals to a dictator who is at war, and what shall he do with them, make cocktails?

The same chemicals could have been used to produce plastics.

Keep in mind that it was a 10 year war with Iran. A country might need to produce such a thing as plastics in a ten year span.

Hind sight is 20/20.

Sure now that we can look back, we can say it was the wrong thing to do. But some people here make it seem as if we gave him chemical weapons just so he would kill innocent people.

It's not true.

Lets not be naive. The CIA had its hand it everything going on over there, since we were still technically in the Cold War.

Keep in mind that it was a 10 year war with Iran. A country might need to produce such a thing as plastics in a ten year span.

Heh, it's funny that you wouldn't conceed such a thing now though, even though Iraq proved to be much worse to foreign enemies THEN than it is NOW.

Sure now that we can look back, we can say it was the wrong thing to do. But some people here make it seem as if we gave him chemical weapons just so he would kill innocent people.

It's not true.

Again, ignorance is bliss. If you think we didn't know it was going on, you're wrong.

We did not give Saddam chemical weapons.

It was not our will that he would use them against anyone.

Sorry Kevin, I disagree with your opinion.

That explanation for our government and it's intelligence community gets a little old after a while. They go in, back one side or the other depending on whatever serves their interest, leave that country a mess and then wonder why, years later, trajedies like the WTC happen. I'm not saying that our government is totally at fault, but let's take a little responisibility somewhere in here. There's a reason (besides being jealous of our wealth, resources, ect.) that other nations hate the U.S. so much.
