Why is it that I can find pentagrams and crosses in countless motifs all over the Internet, yet it is nearly impossible to find Jewish jewelery to suit my tastes? Alchemy Gothic sells about a thousand gorgeous, unusual pentacles and crosses, but I'll be damned if I can find ONE FUCKING PIECE OF JUDAICA IN IT THAT ISN'T DERIVED FROM FORGED MEDIEVAL PSEUDO-KABALLALISTIC TEXTS!

Is it just not fucking trendy enough to be Jewish or what? >:

Sounds like a good business oppurtunity. Jewish/Gothic jewelery.

Isn't it funny, none of the races or religions who have a reason to be depressed have their own gothic motif. Only rich white suburbanites. I heart america.

I did find one pendant I liked:

But it's awful lonely, being the single piece of "gothic" Jewish jewelery out there... :(

Whatever happened to being traditional and getting a plain old Star of David? You know, Judaism, oldest monotheistic religion, six thousand years of rich heritage and all that? If I were a Jew I'd think wearing Goth/Jewish jewelry was like giving G-d the finger, saying "your symbol isn't good enough for me, it needs to be spiced up to fit my personal taste".

Of course, I'm not a Jew. So go ahead and do what you want.

Look, the symbol is fine. I'm not annoyed with Gd, I'm annoyed that it never occurred to any of these businesses that there could be a market for this kind of thing. I don't see how on Earth a little bit of variety here and there would offend Gd, for crying out loud.

Jewish Goth?
Sure, why not! I'm sure the KKK will also soon welcome blacks into it's fine organization.

The origins of the Goth look comes from the dark, and wicked looking art and architecture that had sprung up in Germany during the Medivial Times correct? Had much religious zeal, those Christians of the time. Wouldn't be suprised if they didn't hold a few Inquisitions of their own. Or putting to the torch people who had a few problems with a Mr. Christ back down the road somewhere. And thus, you see a lack of Jewish Gothic Art, clothes, and jewelery.
It's a major disappointment. I mean, who wouldn't want to wear a t-shirt saying somethings like this:

"Hey Iraq, don't make us release the Jews on you!
They Fucked up Jericho, they could do the same to you!"

Lame, yes, but I would still wear it.

You stupid sack of shit. I was talking about the '80s goth subculture and the style that came from it, not medieval times.

You know, Pagans suffered a lot during that time, but everywhere you look, you see goths who are Wiccans.

What are you, fucking retarded? >:

Struck a nerve?

Why did they call the Goth Look Goth?
Why give a social rebellious/outcast group with suicidal tendencies a name like Goth, Gothic?
Why are Goths named for the destroyers of the Roman Empire?
Why is it, stone cast roses, spikes, and Gargoyles, are dominate in Gothic Architecture, and the same thing is often seen in today's Gothic Scene?

I'm a purist in that to me, "gothic" as a garb style refers to plate armour manufactured in Southern Germany at the turn of the 16th century.

Question:Why is Gothic architecture called "Gothic" when it really had nothing to do with the destroyers of the Roman Empire?

Answer: Gothic architure experienced a decline in popularity during the Baroque period. At this point in time, word "Gothic" meant barbaric, ugly, displeasing etc and the term got attached to the architechture. The orignal term for the style is "Ogive".

Question: Why do the things seen in Gothic architechture appear also in the Goth scene?

Answer: Because during the Romance period of the 19th and 20th centuries, a great deal of macabre and mysterious literature appeared. The term "Gothic" became associated with the spooky and ominious feel of this literature, because Gothic architechture is spooky and ominious.

Clear now?
