View Full Version : OUR RECENT LONDON TRIP!

Mockery
Feb 2nd, 2003, 01:39 PM
Ok, I know everybody's been wanting to see some pics of our London trip, so we've got a bunch of 'em ready to show ya. Sorry if this thread takes long to load. The quality on these will vary since some photos are digital, some are from a regular camera, and some are from a shitty disposable one. I'm just going to post these in the order that they're listed in the directory, so it won't be chronological or anything. So without further delay, I present to you... LONDON :o

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/april-re-sam-parliament.jpg
April, Re, and Sam standing in front of Parliament and Big Ben. Big Ben really isn't as "Big" as its name would make you think. And it's not even a digital clock. Get with the times people! :rolleyes

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/boo-pickle-porn.jpg
Gemma and Boo (sporting my Pickle Hat & Goggles) are enjoying a German Fetish magazine that I found on top of a dresser in our hotel room. It was a great magazine, filled with stuff like "speedos with a unicorn that holds in your penis." Classy!

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/carnival-skull-doom.jpg
When we were in Brighton (an awesome place, about an hour outside of London) we got to visit the piers, and this one was one of the largest piers I had ever seen. It had roller coaster rides, 3 different arcades, and all the junkfood you could dream of. Plus it had this giant doomy skull thing. And if life has taught me one thing, it's that you can't go wrong with giant doomy skull things. :o

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/clown-bathroom.jpghttp://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london_scan5.jpg
The London Dungeon is one of the most awesome things we visited. It appeared to be a simple spook house, but it actually took about an hour to walk through the entire thing. And at the end of it, even the bathrooms were decorated. KILLER CLOWNS ON THE LOOSE! :chatter

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/dungeon-re-jessica.jpg
Re and Jessica hanging out by a guy that they just ate for lunch. Hey, sometimes Fish & Chips just don't cut it for us Americans, ok?

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/dungeonlady-with-re.jpg
This is one of the dungeon ladies standing next to Re. I don't really know what her purpose was, other than to make squealing sounds and tell everybody where to walk. She has one of the best jobs in the world :(

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/gem-boo-lifeguard.jpghttp://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/re-rog-lifeguard.jpg
Here we all are on Brighton Pier. MY HERO :love

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/gemma-kirk.jpg
Gemma isn't as tall as Captain Kirk, so she can't go on the ride. :tear

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/gemma-toys.jpg
Gemma with her HeroClix toys, plotting our death. Re kicked our asses in the first game, and then Gemma kicked our asses in the second. And me? Well, I just suck at HeroClix. >:

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/glass-comparison.jpg
This pic doesn't even really explain the difference in size of alcoholic beverages and all other beverages. Every morning we would go down for breakfast and I would have SIX glasses of juice. Why six? Because it was served in fuckin shotglasses. With alcohol, however, you might as well just put your mouth under the spigot, cuz they give you all you want.

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/hotel-view.jpg
The view from our hotel room window. You can't really see it, but there are some rich people in London, they've got some crazy flats.

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london-bridge.jpg
London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London Bridge is falling down.

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/my-fair-lady.jpg
My fair lady. :love

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london_scan1.jpg
Re, Dole, and myself, all standing in front of Parliament/Big Ben. We're quite distinguished looking, eh old bean?

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london_scan2.jpg
"Hello Gemma? Hello Dole? Ok how the FUCK do we find the right train to Brighton?"

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london_scan3.jpghttp://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london_scan4.jpg
More carnage from the london dungeon. Death is FUNtastic! :rave

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london_scan6.jpg
I'M SCARED :( I DUN WANNA GO IN TEH DUNGEON! :tear

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london_scan8.jpg
SAY, IT'S NOT SO BAD IN THIS DUNGEON AFTER ALL! I FIT RIGHT IN! :)

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london_scan9.jpg
But why the hell is the lady from "The Weakest Link" in here? :confused

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/london_scan7.jpg
Re 'n me on the plane ride home. Awwww. :love

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/martin-chug.gif
Martin chugs down one of his many drinks. Not that he's a drunkard or anything (:lol)

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/puking-blood.jpg
I mean, at least he's not PUKING UP BLOOD!

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/re-gem-pub.jpg
"AROOOOOO? I'M IN A PUB?" (one of my favorite pics of the trip)

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/re-skulls.jpghttp://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/rog-skulls.jpg
SKULLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/rog-april-spikes.jpg
April and me admiring all of the spiky things one could impale themselves upon in London.

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/rog-bobbies.jpg
"THE BOBBIES GOT ME! THE BOBBIES GOT ME! PLEASE LET ME GO, I'LL GIVE YOU A SHILLING IF YOU LET ME GO! :("

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/rog-martin.jpg
I decided to find out how funny it would be to punch Martin in the stomach after he had a few glasses of beer. And let me tell you, it was HILARIOUS

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/granddad-pipe.jpghttp://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/rog-pipe.jpg
This was the most important photograph of the entire trip for me. My grandfather, who passed away last year, had this photo of himself taken in London. It was always my grandma's favorite picture of him. His name was Roger too actually. Anyway, I bought a pipe and took a similar picture of myself and I gave my grandma a large print of it. It made her really happy, the two Rogers in London. It's my little tribute to him. :)

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/rog-re-heroclix.jpg
Here I am with Re, moments before she kicked my joker's ass with her Batman in a game of HeroClix. >:

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/rog-sam-april-columns.jpg
April, Sam, and I admiring some fine London architecture. :posh

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/sam-nude-action.jpg
Sam will forever be a Nude-Action-Body in my mind. :love

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/sam-pickle-porn.jpg
Especially since he enjoys looking at German fetish magazines while wearing my Pickle Hat & Goggles too.

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/sam-pub-flash.jpg
Oops, did the flash go off in your eye sam? Sorry ol' chap, have a pint on us! ROFLROFLROFL

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/smoking-kills.jpg
They don't need a Surgeon General in London, they get right to the fucking point. :rock

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/tate-giant-sculpture.jpg
The Tate Modern museum was pretty awesome. They had some real great exhibits, and this particular one was MASSIVE. Big metal rings, with tarp stretched around them at a really high tension. Looked pretty incredible. The photos don't even do it justice, because it's so big that it can't all fit in a single photograph.

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/wobbly-bridge.jpg
I swear, I should have been a photographer. Just look at that photo! (that's the "wobbly" bridge btw)

http://www.lowfrequency.com/misc/london/wicked-women.jpg
The Wicked Women of London! :faint

Ok there you have it. All in all, it was a fan-fuckin-tastic trip. No plane delays, no rain, great weather (it was 20 degrees warmer over there than it was here in Richmond). Had a blast seeing our old friends, and it was great to meet up with Sam, Gemma, Boo, and Martin.

Sam: thanks so much for giving us directions and taking us around to see some of the cool stuff in London, rather than doing just some typical touristy crap. Had a blast hanging out with you in Brighton as well. You're one o' the nicest chums I've met. Thanks for letting us crash at your schnazzy apartment, even though I did knock myself out. >:

Gemma 'n Boo: You guys live in a great area, and it was a lot of fun walking all over Brighton with you guys. Hope you haven't spent all of your money on comics, because my impression was that you guys go to the comic shop EVERY DAY.

Martin: I've never seen a person eat so much pizza in one sitting. My hats off to you sir. It was nice to meet ya.

April & Jessica: You guys don't visit this board, so fuck it, I'm not saying anything about you guys. :lol

It was great hanging out with all of you in the pubs too, even if I couldn't really see you through the thick wall of smoke. ;) Hope you guys will come visit us in VA sometime this year.

Ok, that's all for me now.

Kewl. I'm going to move to the UK for studies after the summer. I wasn't particularily anticipating it. But I guess there's more to it than drunk gay people at soho after all.

Not that I wouldn't be content with drunk gay people at soho, though.

But the fucking Taxi rates suck.

I particularly like the way I look dead in the pier life guard thingy.

Ey, Cherry, whats the deal on the William Shatner height guage? Did they pay thr proper licesnsing fees? I'm all about licesning fees these days, I think I'm going to need to get an advanced degree.

William Shatner is like a father to me. Well. Like an absentee father whom you've never met but who's very absence has a huge impact on your social/emotional development.

I despertaley need to go to England. My Museum has close ties to the London Science Museum, so I might get to go someday, if I get promoted often.

I want to go there, and argue two things with locals.

Point 1: It's not called ANYTHING but "pop". Not Soda, not Coke, not fizzy, not any other homogay names you can think of. POP.

Point 2: Those Brit fucks have an accent, just like the Southern part of the U.S.A does. Us here in the northern U.S. are accent-free.

Then I'd go home, and jerk off.

cherry
Feb 4th, 2003, 01:55 PM
yeah but the jokes on you when you are over here, like when we were in the pub and Rog asked 'what kid of soda do you have' and the bar woman said 'strongbow'.
I should have let him get one.

hint for the non UK people 'strongbow' is cider and its what old punks with bad teeth drink and it will get you pissed. I could have told Rog it was just a refreshing apple drink.

and as for adding letters to words, who the hell is aRquaman? and yes I know he is a second string justice leaguer but you guys were cracking me up when we were playing Hero Clix, 'well I am just gonna kick aRquamans butt'.

:confused Neither have I. Perhaps Gemma was "pissed" when we were playing Heroclix and was hearing things. I'm sure it wasn't the first time such a thing has happened. ;)

I'm just glad that when I ordered a hamburger in london it was an actual hamburger, unlike when I ordered one in Scotland and got a SHEEP BURGER. >:

Feb 4th, 2003, 02:53 PM
So, is Heroclix fun? My friends were talking about getting into it, and wanted me to buy some too, but I refused. Considering our past failures in gaming (D&D, Pokemon Cards, Mordheim, etc), I figured I best not invest any money in something they'll only like for about a week.

And wouldn't you know it? They never even got into Heroclix. I am teh smart.
