Both... I normally will take game graphics and then modify the sprites to my liking. It's a little time consuming, but it's also a lot of fun.

Are we allowed to submit our own Pixel Pal comics? I have a sprite comic made that was meant for another site, but I think it diec, so I was hoping I could submit it here, its not on the internet, so could someone tell me how to upload it or what not?

I remember in another Pixel Pal's thread I was like "My favorite strip is probably the very first one with Mario and the Shyguy", and then RoG was like "Did you know that I used the Mario from SMB3 and everything else in the strip was from SMB2? :eek", and I was all ":picklehat".
