7pmEST on Cartoon Network.
I never saw it before, but I know it's borderline godawful. After seeing the movies, this should be pretty funny. The Balrog's a guy with a lion head. :lol

At least the animation looks decent at some parts. :/

Sam acts like he's got downs in that one. And Treebeard is never introduced and looks like a carrot, if I remember correctly.

There were songs? I must have pushed them so far back into my memory that they fell out through the back of my head.

Wait, you've got that clock that doesn't go to 24. I guess it's 11:52 PM. Or AM. At night, anyway. Oh shit, 11:53.

Holy shit, this is hilarious. Sam IS retarded, and Aragorn looks like He-Man's evil and ugly twin. Legolas looks like he belongs on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
I love all these valuable scenes of people sleeping. Talk about character development. I also love how half of the cartoon is animation, and the other half is washed-out film of real actors.

You might be thinking of The Hobbit cartoon, unless they cut the songs out of the televised version. :/

They made an equally horrific sequel with an even gayer song called "Frodo of the nine fingers" and the guy that sang it was a complete queen who just appeared out of no where at Bilbo's birthday party.

There are two separate cartoons? I need to get my shit straight.

There are three seperate cartoons. There's "The Hobbit" by Rankin-Bass that was made for CBS, "Lord of the Rings" by Ralph Bakishi (spelled wrong) which was an actual movie, and "Return of the King", again by Rankin-Bass for CBS.
The two made by Rankin-Bass had the songs in them. Treebeard WAS introduced in "Lord of the Rings", but he was only in one scene.

They're showing Return of the King on Cartoon Network this Sunday, too.
These movies are fucking hilariously awful. I might just have to get them on DVD.

The thing that bothered me the most about The Hobbit and Return of the King was that they made Elrond GREEN. What the hell?!
Well, that and the hippie music. *shudder*

Elrond was green? I knew the Wood Elves were green and freaky looking (the ones from Mirkwood), but I thought Elrond was white. Hm.

I've never seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies because magic is for fairies and homosexuals. :(

Elrond looked like Kevin Nealon in Lord of the Rings. :lol

Hmm. I guess since I was just a young-un when I saw these last, I thought they were good. The animated Hobbit wasn't that bad, except the elves were all freaky looking and Elrond was gray (not green). I did like the Gollum character that they had in that one.
That animated LOTR, however, with the washed out actors in place of real animation, sucked harder than a French maid.

I kind of liked the real actors playing the orcs. It was a neat effect. :/ Then again, I wasn't paying much attention to the movie
