Wasn't sure whether I should put this in the Art Shit forum or here, but what the hell. Tell me your honest opinions of my first attempt at making my own sprite.

As a zelda conusor, I like it.

Not bad at all Goat. I'm sure you'll be able to make a nice pixelated addition to the i-mockery virtual building that Jin is currently working on when it launches.

Let's see em in motion now.

I only like the young link one

Yeah, Young is the best.

Not really a fan of the first ones, but I have to agree on the young Link thing. That one is pretty sweet.

Is that enough motion for the good doctor?

Btw, I'm working on a whole sheet of him, and I'm also working on perfecting the adult Link model. Keep your eyes peeled.

EDIT: OMG, Chojin spoke to me without insulting me or saying I should die! Mark this day on your calandars, everyone!

There isn't much motion going in with those sprites. It's just a torso with one limb slightly rotating and stuff. I recommend you redraw each one. And your quarter-views are tons better than your profiles.

And I also recommend you stop posting here, but lets not get into that you shouldn't start the lawn mower if you aren't gonna cut the grass am i right guys

You need to do one of three things with the profile walking sprites:

1) Lean the torso forward in all of them.
2) Move the feet back in all of them.
3) Bend the torso back and forth as he walks.

.....because he looks like he's goose-stepping.

You've already beat the artists of Super Metroid by keeping his sword in the same hand no matter what. (and I noticed the ponytail too)

Chojin: I'll take (most) of your advice and I'll have a better updated version of this sheet within a few days.

Pern: Thanks for the comment on the Metroid thing. I really am trying to be faithful to the way the character is supposed to look, seeing as how it is my favorite game series of all time. I think what I'm gonna do after I finish this sheet is make a sheet of all the masks from Majora's mask as accessories. Who knows, I may end up making sheets for (almost) the entire cast of that game.

That'd be cool.

Yes, it's a bump, but for good reason. As some of you may (or may not) have seen in another thread, someone has animated some of my sprites for me. Here they are. Yes, the background isn't that great, but it is the quality of the sprites I would like comments on.

I like it :)

His stride is a little too big. Maybe it's just not moving fast enough. But still cool.

it's just that the bachgrund isn't moving fast enough.

Cool stuff, I like em. First ones were a little shakey like people said but the new sets are cool. I also have to chime in about adult Link looking a bit worse than young link. The adult Link needs a lil work. The quarter view looks best.

Might as well switch colors and make sprites for the Blue and Red armors too :)

I was planning on doing the different colors as well, and I know the adult Link needs work. Remember, though, the Adult was my first attempt, and I didn't have any other sprites to work off of. I'm going to re-do adult Link as soon as I finish the sheets for Young Link. I still need attacking animations and all his items.
