I NEED HELP WITH VOCALS

I want to be able to do vocals for a hardcore band im making.. and i need help learning how to do it.

I can scream to where it sounds good.. but i need to know how to do it where it doesn't hurt. And so I can do a real long scream(like a 7 second scream :x)

The only way to scream consistently is to fuck up your vocal cords to the point where it's not painful anymore, yet you don't have a normal voice anymore either.

first.. we have somebody else that sings cause i cant sing. we do singing mixed with screaming.

second.. there's other ways to scream then to hurt yer vocals. i just dun know what they are lol. :(

Yeh.. im not talking about low death-metal stuff. More like the stuff they use in HXC. Stuff similiar to AS I LAY DYING and stuff. And i'll check out the band later tonight.. when I get through installing linux. :(

well hears how i do both death metal growls and such...
Death metal growls:
1: i have a certain area of my throat were i can do them and not hurt my vocal chords or anything like that.
2: lower where your scream/growl comes from. Bring down so it feels like its coming straight from your lungs.
3:lower the volume if it hurts sometimes, then just cup the mic, you pussy.
Screams:
1: it helps to do the far and few between... but if you insist on doing gay screamo bullshit then what ever.
2:chris barnes... tomb of the mutilated.... end of story.


oh, and the sawtooth grin obviously uses vocal effects... and they blow ass for trying to be too much like dillenger.
