This is an online conversation I had with camacazio where I exlplained an encounter with a group of artists with a particular fancy for drawing women with overly sized bosoms. Now not that I don't like overly-large breasts on the chest of a teenage anime girl, I just don't like dumbasses. Take care when reading this because I sound like a dumbass a few times as well.

Oh sorry, I wasn't aware that we made favorites based on inner beauty. I guess I am one of those shallow types that goes strictly on looks when it comes to art and not its personality; the peice of art I am dating right now, as a matter of fact, I am only into for its looks.

I've added images both better and worse then me to my favs, mostly because I happened to take a shine on a particular image. As an artist (I assume that is, in fact, what you are, or you have no room disparaging another’s art) you should know that indeed, art ISN'T about the looks, but about the inner beauty. I am nowhere near as good an inker as lightfoot is, for example, but is anyone here going to tell me that my work is 'inferior' to his? I think that any fellow artist here will agree that there are some elusive qualities to images that do not encompass 'looks'. Monet, for example, is consideblue a great artist, as are Picasso, Van Gogh, etc. Some of their pieces are, in fact, quiet ugly, but it is great art. Who are you to judge what is and is not great art? I think that lightfoot puts images on his favorites because he, for whatever reason, happens to like that picture. And if you don't like it, you can take a piece of rough grain sedimentary rock, insert it rectally and rotate it clockwise at 4000rpms...

I know that in the internet world we can pretend we are the experts of everything and no one can really challenge you unless you have a community to cry out in one bandwagon-riding voice against either side. And this goes for art as well. Your message had less effect on me than did the baffeling reason you decided to write it, other than to get some props from our animal-humping friend I had encountered previously. My point behind the message was not that our favorites must be better than ours, just that you really do need to like it. And art is an object, not a college fling that you bang and then never call. Sounds like you are trying a little too hard to 'get' art and are ripping explinations out of thine butthole. Art is art; you read it, you look at it, you even eat it sometimes, but you don't judge it on the content of its character because it is not a fucking person.

Now, you could go on and argue that I am wrong because most artfags will try to put much more into it than there is, but if you decide to get real, you will see that art is what it makes you feel when you see it. Not talk to it, or hump it, or feed it. No, when you LOOK at it. Again, it is not a person. It is a thing that someone made. So float back down to earth and take the fag glsses off before you gang up on the artist that doesn't have a mammary fixation.

I am not forcing you to agree, I am not forcing you to even respectfully allow me to have my own views-- well, maybe I am asking for that last one, since that is why I am even writing back.

I will tell you a secret though: this is the first time that I have ever made anyone mad with my critiquing. Usually they simply laugh with me for a spell and then ride off into the sunset of supafly storybookland, but you seem to take it so damn personal that I am invoking a personality that isn't boring as shit, that you followed me around to make sure you hated me. Relax, or drink some herbal tea with breast milk or whatever you titti artists do.

I hate pretentious art assholes who are afraid to hurt other people's feelings and therefore compliment on how great the personality is and all that shit because they can't think of a single good thing to say about the actual quality of the art.

Critiquing needs to be brutal and the people who suck need to have their noses rubbed into the fact that they, in fact, suck. If they can't take the heat they have no business trying to draw and showing off their work anyway because there will always be people who will say that they suck balls.

Also, Supa, just because your art is worse than someone else's, hell, even if your art was just stick figure drawings, you could still give very valid crits. It's not about how gifted you are yourself, it's about the actual knowledge you posess about anatomy etc. and you also need to be able to judge if something is part of a style or not.

What's really funny is the extent to which I've played the lot of you. Reguardless as to your opinion of my art, you looked at it. While I acknowledge your works as an expression of sexual deviation (fitting for the site name, though not the point), I do not acknowledge your expression of sexual deviation as art. However, I would probably consider it art if it was part of a gallery depicting the various genres of sexual deviation, such as a real artist putting them into the public eye in a form of grotesque beauty, not unlike painting the Virgin Mary out of elephant poop.

Never claimed subterfuge wasn't talented fly, I said that she should get away from the psudo-goth stuff. RK Post and BROM do it well, she dosn't, yet. Her other images are better. That is my opinion, and I'll do one better then most of you, I'll say WHY I think they're better. They're more original, and her command of the brush lends itself to them better then it does to the other peices. THough I willl say that with some more practice, she may overcome this.

GOTT SIE DANK! Someone opened thier mouth and intellegence came out! Right on all points, save that I do have training, though my anatomy is weak, and I have a rather extensive knowlege of photoshop, though I rarely use it in the manner of a coloring tool. Also you are correct in the my pencils are unsteady. That is one of the major failings of my artwork. Thank you. At least, real feedback! I was getting tired of people saying either that I was great or that I suck, but giving no reasons. And when I critiqued it, I should have said that the placement of her bangs made her forehead look too short. Sorry about that. Feel free to visit my DA site and leave real feedback. I can't get people to do that, so I am forced to resort to extream measures. The drow swordsman is terrible, his abs go way too high.


The reason that my drawing is better, fly, is that I would never be caught dead in a Yu-gi-oh shirt. It also looks more like me, rather then the drooling fanboy you imagine. 1: I was drawing this as a joke and not for looks, where you were apparently making some sort of artistical point that you are awesome, which I can plainly see.
2: You stole every accessory I had and made more simple and dispraportioned.
3: Your drawing in general was just simple, but not in a good way. It is in the way how 4th graders run out of paper so they have to cram the rest of the body in the drawing space, except you somehow did it without any restriction.

6: I have seen 12-year olds draw better

A guy with muscle tone like this (which is highly inaccurate to begin with) whouldn't have such a skinny little neck; the arms are off - 2 different lengths - and if one is turned palm downward and is showing the inside of the elbow, then why the hell does the other one look like it's showing the inside of the elbow. It's should be showing the side; the figure is stiff - there's no life to him. He looks like a doll; there's no emotion: is he angry? sad? pensive? is he going to pounce with an unsheathed sword? Or is he gonna stand there like a vapid Barbie; there are 30 different light sources; the coloring doesn't differ from his hands to his nose. Noses and hands get pinker. Even if this is some elven fuck, the art would benefit from adding human qualities that people recognize: pink nose, cheeks, hands. Or greyer or bluer. It doesn't matter, so long as there is varying coloration as in real flesh.

I could continue, but this is too lame of a picture to waste any more time on. I've taught 11 year old students with more potential. It's sad that you're 25. I was at this level when I was 8.

Oh, and painting "pseudo-goth", which you refer to when you speak about my art, is a zillion times cooler than sketching improperly proportioned furries and elves. Also, just to inform you: Goths wear lace and velvet and generally have white make up. They're all covered up in layers of clothing. My stuff leans toward industrial/dominatrix influenced style. But you'd never know any of that, considering you never have been to a club in your life.

It's should be showing the side; the figure is stiff - there's no life to him. He looks like a doll; there's no emotion: is he angry? sad? pensive? is he going to pounce with an unsheathed sword? Or is he gonna stand there like a vapid Barbie; there are 30 different light sources; the coloring doesn't differ from his hands to his nose. Noses and hands get pinker. Even if this is some elven fuck, the art would benefit from adding human qualities that people recognize: pink nose, cheeks, hands. Or greyer or bluer. It doesn't matter, so long as there is varying coloration as in real flesh.

I could continue, but this is too lame of a picture to waste any more time on. I've taught 11 year old students with more potential. It's sad that you're 25. I was at this level when I was 8.

Oh, and painting "pseudo-goth", which you refer to when you speak about my art, is a zillion times cooler than sketching improperly proportioned furries and elves. Also, just to inform you: Goths wear lace and velvet and generally have white make up. They're all covered up in layers of clothing. My stuff leans toward industrial/dominatrix influenced style. But you'd never know any of that, considering you never have been to a club in your life.
