I just installed morrowind and the 2 expansions for PC and everything looked perfectly normal but when I tried to run the game for the first time (and every time after) it "encounters a problem and needs to close". Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

And yes, I downloaded it and all 3 were cd images that I mounted to install and there were no errors until I tried to play.

No, really. Who the fuck buys what they can get for free? I really doubt it's my downloading it that's the problem. Unless someone has an idea of what it is, I think it's my piece of shit computer. I can always try putting it on one of the other 4 computers in the house but that requires effort :(

The problem is propably a corrupted cd-image. I had the same problem when I downloaded Omikron: the nomad soul. So I downloaded a new set of images of the same game and they worked fine.

There is a critical patch you need in order to run the game with both Tribunal and Bloodmoon installed. You can get it at the bloodmoon section of the morrowind website.

If this does not fix what's wrong then I suggest reinstalling the game without the expansions and go from there.

I would reccomend beating the game without installing the expansions because all they do is distract you and you need to be at a pretty high level to play the expansions.

I don't know about you, but I usually pay for that candy bar at the gas station instead of just pocketing it.

You can get away with stealing a lot of shit. That doesn't mean everyone doesn't pay for things.

I would reccomend beating the game without installing the expansions because all they do is distract you and you need to be at a pretty high level to play the expansions. There are many bugs in the game that the expansions fix, that includes many graphical glitches. And if you have the concentration of an 8 year old or better, the expansions won't be too distracting. I found that beating the game after doing the expansions is just as fun anyway.

morrowind's hard enough to get to run w/o having to deal with it being a non-legit copy too :/

Somehow downloading a game off the net doesn't seem as bad as pocketing a candy bar. Besides, you knew what I meant.
