must be the polyphonic spree. I saw them play in Brighton and they were great...even if it was essentially the same song played 15 times.

polyphonic spree are probably the only decent band you saw watching the vma's.
appreciate the fact that someone saw fit to bless you with something you didn't deserve, faggot-face.

yeah, i disagree with the retards who put the quote in red on all the t-shirts "VOTE OR DIE"...i think its the wrong message to send

and i also think they're lying

and its funny, they're like scaring you into voting

"VOTE OR DIE, YES THAT'S RIGHT, YOU WILL DIE, THAT INCLUDES YOU UNDER 18-YEAR OLDS, IF YOU DON'T VOTE P. DIDDY WILL PERSONALLY COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND BURY YOU IN YOUR BACKYARD IN A COFFIN FULL OF MUTANT SHARKS AND YOU WILL DIE."

but besides that, sometimes the vma's are actually kind of good. like funny or even the sets look neat. but this one was terrible. there wasn't even a host.

no, they survived bonnaroo. surely they can survive the vma's, as well. the new album's actually quite good.

I was surprised to see them too. Good for them.
They are playing at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans this year, that should be oh so wild!

Possibly being the key word here. "Vote or Die"? What a load of cock. Does mtv, or any other of the corporate-owned netyworks give you any useful information about the key issues of our day? Do they ever tell you about any other parties besides the pro-capitalist democrats and republicans? When a war happens, do they do anthing but demonize the enemy and glorify the american troops?

Of course, the answers are 'no'. They never tell you anything which might help you make an informed decision. They line up behind the war effort while the us military rains death and destruction on some hapless people (the serbs, the afghans, the iraqis, etc).

Besides its insidious political role, is a promoter of the worst shit imaginable: Brainless female pop stars and talentless male chauvinists.

In pushing this mind-numbing garbage, it is hardly alone. It is owned by viacom, a massive multi-billion dollar firm with big holdings in various sectors of the economy. in terms of its ownership structure, as well as its unstated (but nonetheless obvious and vile) pro-capitalist orientation, it resembles the other major media networks - all purveyors of reactionary views, all devoted to deadening peoples' capacity to think. All worthy of ridicule.
