"Bush said he expects violence in Iraq to escalate as the country moves toward elections scheduled for January."
AP wire

What does he expect it to do AFTER the elections, if they are held in any meaningful way?

Is he saying he expects violence to De-escelate? If that's not what he's saying, then his statement is pointless. If it is what he's saying, he ought to put it out there so that he can be accountable.

I imagine he also expects violence to sharply spike every time someone registers democrat or shares a loving embrace with a member of their own gender.

I find it hard to pay attention past the part where Bush says "I expect..."

I mean, he's the American President and all, but he doesn't strike me as a person qualified to do this kind of guesswork. Isn't that the CIA's job, anyway?
