No it's not the name of a band :/ Using programs to record I have to deal with the echo from latency...anybody know how to fix this problem?

Could be because you sound card is not up to the job. What are you currently using?

onboard that has Asio...

That would probably be why then. Onboard sucks.
You might want to try updateing motherboard drivers tho.
