Counter-Strike: Source DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS

Haha actually it's pretty much the same as before, only prettier. And somehow it seems everything moves more realistically. I played two hours today with 100 lag and it was pretty much smooth. It suprised me that I only read one 'ppwnd!' in all the communication transcription I bothered to keep up with (read: I didn't die a lot. 'cause I'm good. And down with the sickness)

I expect the appeal of playing with people I don't know will wear out in a week or so. Then it's back to waiting for HL2, which I've pre-ordered when I bought Source, apparently.

Anyone else played? Thoughts?

Yep i have been playing it loads recently, its brilliant imo. I used to play cs shit loads then i just got bored of it but source has made me like it again. I lurrve the office level, it is the most fun out of the lot imo , it just looks so cool when a grenade goes off sending pictures, guns and general debris flying about everywhere.

The guns seem alot better than they used to be, as well as the fact they all look great they seem more balenced and meaty.

In ragards to source tech in general i like it alot, it is alot more subtle than doom3 tech with a much more simple lighting system but the lighting in doom would not work well in large outdoor environments such as HL2/CSS's anyway.
Things such as the way light reflects off walls and how hostages are lit up by light sources make it look fantastic.

And one last thing, the net code of source is amazing, i was playing last night with a ping of 160ms as i was downloading a film and the game was more or less exactly the same, people still died when i shot em and grenades still threw when i er.. threw em.
The engine is going to be a modders dream for sure.

ive starting playing this quite a lot now, but one queston comes to mind...

why are there so many burnt out cars in dust? and where did they come from? every road is blocked off by crates and wooden doors.
