Agreed. It was great. Did you stay for the Kim Jong song towards the end of the credits? :)

Was it more comedy than politics?
Was it "the world is fucked lets laugh about it, that helps" or "The world is fucked lets do something about it"?

More comedy I'd say.

It largely tried to stay in the center of the politcial spectrum, which is odd when you consider that only democrats are gonna watch it since it's billed as a liberal joke-a-thon.
The whole message as I interpreted it is 'both sides suck, but sometimes the crazy militant right ends up doing some good, while the left just ends up crying about stuff.'
I was really suprised to see neither a Bush or Kerry puppet.
The soundtrack is awesome.

If I had to give a serious explanation of it, I would remind the person asking for the serious explanation that it is a puppet movie. If more was still required, I'd say it picks on the stupid people involved in government. The Hollywood Left is all up in arms because it names some individuals specifically, as if they had private lives. Those on the right that are targeted aren't gonna watch the movie and likely wouldn't get it if they were forced to see it.
It's not about Bush or Kerry or any other politician. They only do what they are allowed to do by those that believe whatever they hear coming out of the mouth of some braindead celebrity or country singer and then vote accordingly.
Again, I'd suggest everyone remember this is a puppet movie.
FUNNIEST. MOVIE. EVER.

I heard that Sean Penn got really pissed off because of this movie. I have to see this.

Bush and Kerry were supposed to be in the movie, but Matt and Trey left them out because they said it would feel like a long-ass SNL skit if they had them in it.

'Team America: World Police' Condemned: Enormously Bigoted Rubbish
By the Glorious Revolutionary Federation of Fortune 500 Killers
The Glorious Revolutionary Federation of Fortune 500 Killers and its Asian-American Radical Caucus condemned the new film “Team America: World Police” and characterized it as “bigoted and racist trash that nobody should help support.”
“After conferring with sympathizers, we feel completely comfortable making this assessment,” said a Federation spokesperson.
The film belittles AIDS victims, essentializes Arabs as “terrorists,” and makes fun of the speech patterns of people of Asiatic descent through a caricature of North Korean dictator and Stalinist reactionary Kim Jong-il.
“There are many ways to satirize insightfully a scumbag like Kim Jong-il—but deferring to racist—and worse, trite and boring—depictions of speech patterns does not fall into this category,” said the Federation. “It is amusing that so many American (and white) audience members get a kick out of this, given that most students in Asian countries routinely outpace their European and American counterparts academically and frequently have a better command of grammar.”
Some misinterpreted a communiqué last week blasting Sean Penn, who condemned “Team America’s” reactionary filmmakers Trey Parker and Matt Stone for allegedly encouraging voter apathy, as support for the filmmakers.
“Utter garbage,” said a Federation spokesperson in response. “‘Team America’ epitomizes a real decline among some quarters of American humor. There is now a current school of comedy that cowardly defers to a ‘we offend anybody’ line, one where anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic criticism is brushed off as ‘politically correct.’ It is a sad betrayal of comedians like Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, and Dick Gregory, who harnessed the power of humor against state-condoned and institutional racism, the death penalty, and American militarism-jingoism—and went to jail for it.”
The Federation also condemned major media for “lack of diversity in reviewers” and said that the “overwhelming white heterosexual male composition of film reviewers often translates into blind spots.”
Do not see this rubbish.

That wasn't a very helpful website they have. What a stupid name, too.
I still think it is a fair call they have about American humour, but this:
most students in Asian countries routinely outpace their European and American counterparts academically and frequently have a better command of grammar.”
Is just bellow the belt style shit that has nothing to do with anything.
No I haven't seen the fil yet.

The Soundtrack comes out Nov. 2. I've already tried to download "Fuck Yeah". But it is actually a Kill Bill rap/remix thing which isn't too bad either :o. It talks about how Bill killed Biggy and Tupac :eek

Loved it. It wasn't a stupid plot, it was simply satire of what is going on right now. Granted, an exaggerated form, but still very well done.

It wasn't a stupid plot...
if a movie made entirely of puppets and revolving around the idea of the u.s. govt hiring a brodway actor and a clarevoyant to infiltrate the terrorist infidels in order to save the world isn't a stupid plot; what the fuck is?
i think the movie creators are intelligent but i refuse to call the movie itself that, regardless of social and politcal undertones.
maybe tomorrow you can tell us all how you think hillary duff is the voice of your generation...
