So, i just watched this today. And i know i say this about every movie, but this has to be one of the best movies i have ever seen. Like, when it comes to dramatic movies, this one takes the fucking cake. It's completely and distinctly, the most incredible movie of its kind. I am simply aghast at how well the entire movie was played out.

BELOW HERE

THERE IS ONE TINY LITTLE SPOILER THAT WILL RUIN THE END FOR YOU

YA'LL

The ending made me wonder what life after death would be like. Would you long for life? Would you long for pain and suffering? It's a pretty disturbing question. I know at 17 i'm too young to be worrying about death, but it's still a pretty goddamned scary concept.

Really? I thought the ending was a total cop-out. Maybe it was because I wasn't at all prepared for a sci-fi kind of explanation. At first I thought it was just going to turn out Cruise's character was going insane, though I didn't know what to think of the scene where he talks to the man in the bar, and everyone stops talking at his command.

I did think it was a good movie, but I would've liked a different ending.

I fucking love this movie. It's easily in my top five. I'm mad at myself that it took me a year after it came out to see.
If I'm not mistaken, it was released around the same time as another Cruise movie which was shit; Minority Report. I didn't watch Vanilla Sky for spite.
The ending of this movie is quite sobering. The score is fucking great.

One question. WTF took you so long to see this movie?

And after you watch Vanilla Sky again (because you know you will) you need to watch Abre Los Ojos. This is the film Cameron Crowe based his movie on. It is incredible.

I had no idea what was going on until it was revealed towards the end with the TV in the prison. It occurred to me that he could be dead several times throughout the movie, but i never really gave it much thought. I did notice that the sky changed, but i didn't that much thought either. I was focused on the poster. This movie was actually not my first choice to see. I had wanted to watch Goodfellas, but that was too long, as was Apocalypse Now, so my brother recommended that i watch this instead, even though it turned out to be pretty long as well. I definitely don't regret seeing this first, and i'm totally planning to watch it again sometime tonight or this weekend. It makes me want to see What Dreams May Come, i also heard good things about that.

Mehhh... Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr. in heaven? There's not enough tears for the world. The visualization of hell is kind of interesting, though.

Yeah, I have a copy of Abre Los Ojos, and I find it much better. I love Castillian, though, so to fuck with what I think.

You can draw conclusions with this movie like you can with Matrix. There are several different interpretations of its finality. Even the friggin' director doesn't know what to think.

I can't really think of many endings for this flick. At most i can just think of

That he either awoke from a coma after the crash, awoke after blacking out after the crash, or that he really was dead and revived.

What Dreams may come is shit, excepty for the visual style and Max von Sydow, who's cool even if his character is poorly written.
