What jobs are you using?

If I'm thinking of the right level, all you have to do is protect what's her face from being killed for four or five turns. If Ramza is a Ninja with double swords and a decent level you should be able to take them out before they can do anything.

not only do you have to protect the girl, you have to kill those two ninja chicks, who use that stitch move that casts stop. this whole battle is a pain, but if you have ignore height or move +4, or a summoner, it gets easier. anything that lets you attack RIGHT AWAY, as opposed to having to walk up the sides to get to them, cause then theyll just fuck you up proper

No, Lancers are too slow and the Assassins are too fast. You need a job that will let you move first. Thief is fast enough but doesn't have enough damage. Like I said before, Ninja is probably best. You might also want a Chemist or someone with Throw Item to heal what's her face.

Ninjas are the best job in the game, imo. Strangely enough item is a skill that people rarely combine with their other jobs. It is extremely helpful to have mastered chemist for some/all of your characters. Make Ninjas with item; fast movement, no time to wait for action.
My first time through the game I used Lancers quite a bit but every continue since then I moved on to at least having 3 ninjas in my party (ramza as a ninja too).
I have to play through this again. Last continue I conquered the Deep Dungeon. Game isn't fun anymore with the Chaos Blade :(

bangaas or whatever they are called cannot be ninjas so the next best thing for them to be is dragoons

I gave up on that level... the whole game was ruined for me after I had leveled up to level 10 after the first real battle, only to discover that the random enemies had all leveled up too, meanwhile I had subpar equipment...

Ninjas do indeed own all. You can crush everyone and their godmother with a ninjas, including Celia & Lede. Lancers do help, too. Just use Jump, or hone someone's gun skills for this level.

Uh dude that is what makes it enjoyable..... Set battles stay at certain level ranges though.

the biggest bitch in that game is that battle where your one on one with that one boss fucker. even with the 2 hand ninja shit, its still iffy, and your main dude is allready fucked up when the real battle starts. i hated that part....

That battle was funny. You can keep running away, keep just out of the dude's reach, and use Ramza's speed up ability over and over again until you get two or three moves for every one of his. Then you can run in, attack, and run away between each of the bad guy's turns. :)

There's not a stage in the whole game that isn't made easier by doing a couple dozen random encounters before trying it again.
And monks w/ whatever are nearly as awesome as ninjas w/ item - chakra and revive yeah! But then I'm a compulsive item hoarder.
