I played my first 3D GTA today, Vice City. I havn't played 3, but Vice City was just attrociously bad.

I don't know what the hype was all about.

I've been out of the video game loop for a long time, this is really the only game I've played besides THPS4 in atleast 2-3 years. But VC had the worst camera of any game I have ever played. There are alot of other reasons why I didn't like it, but that camera.. Ugh. I'm going to have nightmares.

I think the point isn't the camera, but the fact that you can wander around and run people over with cars.

I admit the camera does cause for frustration. But I don't know what else you'd have to complain about.

Aiming sucked, too, but I'm use to playing Counter-Strike. The graphics. I'm not sure what's the standard now, I thought they were pretty mediocre.

I didn't play any missions, I just ran around killing people. After I jacked a tank I realized that the game was pretty pointless. I never liked the missions in GTA2, so I don't know why I'd like them now. This is all coming from a guy who loves Banjo Kazooie and Mario 64. Shrug.

If you did some missions, I think you'd enjoy it. The games are apparently nothing like GTA and GTA2.

The graphics are not the best, but the game is far from ugly. It's a fun game, and that's all that important in the end.

Also, what do you mean the aiming is bad? Didn't you lock on? If you did, you could press r2 or l2 to cycle through targets. :/

I have to admit that the aiming is both good and bad. Hard to explain, but while locking on is great, toggling between targets can be very difficult when in a gunfight. That's why I always used a Python, and did the "quick draw" (R1, fire, let go. R1, fire, let go. As fast as you can, since the Python is the fastest handgun, great accuracy and kills in one hit).

As for the "free range" aiming, with guns like the rocket launcher and sniper rifle, the aiming is very tight.

Don't you know you can press the Select button and change your view? GTA3 had the overhead camera angle like the previous two GTAs just with better graphics.

hmmm.... VC and GTA3 blow the previous versions away. I have way more fun with them than I did with GTA1 or 2.. I still love my 2D but committing crime and doing crazy shit is just more fitting in a 3D world.

Rockstar makes all of the same type of games. It was a good game, but it needs better graphics. Dreamcast has better graphics than PS2!

The graphics are fine. People base their opinion too much on graphics these days. Spoiled... I tell ya.

Graphics are like the vocals in music. People who whine about them are too pretentious to care about the other parts. Games with shit graphics can still be fun, you bastards. >:

I agree with everything said.

As for graphics. I agree they dont have to be good to be a fun game, but I feel the textures look like totally average to bad. granted this is no excuse to not play it, but still there is a right to notice how much they suck at times.

i have gta 3 for pc and although it runs choppy it was a pretty fun game. The story was decent although i wish it was a bit beefer (like in Mafia) but I liked it.

Maybe I can get VC when it comes out for pc.
