Helm

I get that a lot for random people. I've never been able to browse Ninjavenom's files once, for example, and me knows there's lots of goodies to get there. I have no idea why.

whoreable any chance of helping us out with some tech support about configuring routers and or firewalls so that we can help p2p interaction somewhat or should I take this to Technophile Talk and hope for the best? I've read a few tutorials and the like but it all seems kind of abstract and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.

sure why not! this will be the longest post ive made in forever
so basically you need to connect to your router. you can get the router address normaly by clicking start going to run and type cmd hit ok. then in the black window type ipconfig. take note of the ip address and the default gateway.
now open ie and in the address bar type in the defualt gateway. then login to your router(different user and pass for every model)
you can either do 2 things here,
1. there is usually a port forwarding section you can open the port soulseek uses (either 2234 or whatever is set in your options) and then set the forwarded address to the ipaddress you got earlier.
2. or you can basically open all the ports for your computer by going to a dmz host setting and ptting the ip address in there.(this does keep you much more open to viruses, worms, etc) but im to lazy to do it for a bunch of apps so thats what i do.
thats best i can think of right now. if you run into problems say your router model and i can get mroe specific instructions.

There's this custom command center at my ip adress by SpeedTouch (the brand of my modem) and from there I went to Advanced > IP Routing > Create New Entry and I get these blank tabs to fill:
IP routing properties:
Destination:_____________
Gateway:_______________
Interface:_______________
Metric:1________________
...and this is where I do not know what to do next.
For example, the first entry from the ones that are there is likeso:
Destination: 62.103.3.239/32
Label: -
Gateway: 83.235.230.64
Intf: PPPoE_1
Metric: 0
Am I in the right place? How exactly do I set up the new entry?
Thanks for helping me, whoreable.

I'm asked when connecting to 198.162.0.1 for a username and password when i use the browser window, and using telnet i am only prompted for a password, which i do not have. Using 198.162.0.3 gets me a failed connect. It's a Netgear 106TP switch/router. I wish i knew how to get the goddamn thing to just behave ya'll.

helm: thats not it. I belive on yours it is NAPT entries. put the inside address as yourip:port for soulseek and ouside address as 0.0.0.0(or wahtever the internet ip is):soulseek port
not the best instructions but give it a try.
ninja: not familiar with that model but most netgear routers use defualt login as admin and password as password. try that. of course if it has been changed it will need to be reset or you need to find the password.

wait,
inside ip: my ip, inside port : soulseek port
outside ip: 0.0.0.0, outside port : soulseek port
?
I did this. Here goes nothing.
I should maybe make something a bit more universal for all p2p programs, especially for torrents that suffer the most from router problems
