View Full Version : Michael Moore at my School

Moore appeared at my school today. I really don't care how you feel about him, there is something about that guy that just gets you laughing. It was pretty funny, talking about how "This is the only time in history that we want both Michigan and Ohio to be colored blue." For those of you who don't get it, Ohio State and Michigan are really big rivals, and Michigan's main color is blue.

Also, there was a lot of chanting of "5 MORE DAYS!", and other such anti-Bush fodder. At the end, he told us that we were a stop on his "Slacker Tour" of the country, and he had all the people who didn't vote last election, but could have, stand up. He asked them to promise to vote this time, and then handed out what every slacker needs. Ramen and a change of underwear.

Sorry, that is NOT the correct answer. Thank you for playing. Security will escort you to the perimeter of our premesis. We have some lovely parting gifts for you on the way out. Thank you for playing "Try saying something intelligent for once in your damn life". Until next time, I'm Alex Trebeck, and with me in bed as always, is Ken Jennings. Good night.

There weren't enough explosions, and I didn't understand the trials and tribulations of the protagonist. I think it's sad that he didn't actually go and spend the budget on making the towers explode, and instead just played the sound effects to make you get the idea!! what a cop-out!! Am i right guys

He didn't do anything but talkover a bunch of random news clips. That, and he publically said that it was not that big a deal when the towers fell. He has also publically supported the Iraqi insurgents over the american troops, calling them "freedom fighters". He also said that Osama was innocent, right until he flat out said that he did it.

Yes, they were completely random. Good eye. He also wasn't in the movie at all. And didn't film anything himself, for that matter. Have you ever thought of renting out your perceptive abilities to an intelligence organization?

- That, and he publically said that it was not that big a deal when the towers fell.

In the big scheme of terrorists attacks worldwise, it wasn't. In terms of America's history of terrorist attacks and how it would change America's policies, it was.

- He has also publically supported the Iraqi insurgents over the american troops, calling them "freedom fighters".

He called them the minutemen of their country, which is accurate considering they were just invaded without provocation.

- He also said that Osama was innocent, right until he flat out said that he did it.

There are plenty of other people who could organize such an attack, and Osama was blamed not 30 minutes into the attacks' occurence. I didn't think he did it either, but it doesn't mean I thought he was a fantastic human being.

It's fucking amazing you were able to rationalize all of that. If the fall of the two towers wasn't a big deal in his eyes, then why did he just make a movie with that as the main center? Why did he have a black screen with all of the sounds of the first plane crashing and then show the aftermath? Also, why does he care that American troops are getting killed. Hell, he publically stated that he supports the insurgents. Half the damn movie was him complaining about the soldiers who get killed, coupled with footage of soldiers that make them look like complete assholes.

Me made a movie about the american perception of terrorism, not about the two towers. You're stupid.

Michael Moore is a cool person....I may not agree with him (I'm a Libertarian) but you gotta give him credit. Thanks to Moore, thousands more are politically active, liberals or not. He's what got me into it. The man's got balls, you just gotta realize he's very closed minded. The facts are all there, he just edits and makes up his own assumptions, that's what makes him annoying, but he still is a great influence, for better or worse.

Technically, Adolph Hitler brought about an era of increased humanitarianism. Doesn't mean he should be creditied for it or even respected for it.

I don't mean to say the two are on the same level, but if someone is lying to people, you get a bunch of mislead people running around.

Moore doesn't lie, he just doesn't tell the whole truth. At least that is one step closer to complete truth than the Bush administration. THAT is why I give him (at least some) respect.

He also wasn't in the movie at all.

yes he was. he asked a senator to put his kid in the army. he also asked bush a question and bush told him to get a job.

If it helps, think of Moore as one of those evangelical assholes like Jim Bakker, minus the hilarious scandals and God crap. He's just showing the truth as he sees it. He must be doing something good enough to piss everyone off like this, to the point where he's being referred to as Hitler. :D Oh yea, Bush actually did that in a commercial, but he got in trouble for it.
Here's a cool phrase for spineless liberal people (although I like Moore's work): Michael Moorons.

i probably am an opinionated asshole....as long as it makes less people who only say 'i hate moore because he lies cuz bill o reily said so and that's good enough for me blah blah blah'

Touche'. Yeah, Moore is opinionated. However, you really don't need to insult all liberals like that. That makes you no better than him.

ah my bad....i don't hate liberals. it's my 'neo-con' speak so dick cheney doesn't come after me. i do, however, think that there needs to be more aggressive liberals like Moore so nobody will have to refer to them as spineless anymore. :D
