November 01, 2004 - Fox Home Entertainment will release the long-rumored Donnie Darko Director's Cut on DVD On February 15, 2005, for a suggested price of $26.98.
The cult film stars Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Mary McDonnell and James Duval. Jake plays high school student Donnie, who has visions of a giant evil rabbit that orders him to commit acts of violence and predicts the impending end of the world.
The film will sport a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. The new director's cut includes an audio commentary with writer/director Richard Kelly and Kevin Smith, a production diary of the film with optional commentary by director of photography Steven Poster, a storyboard-to-screen featurettes, They Made Me Do It Too - The Cult of Donnie Darko featurettes and #1 Fan: A Darkomentary.
