Only a union between one man and one woman may be a marriage valid in or recognized by this state and its political subdivisions. This state and its political subdivisions shall not create or recognize a legal status for relationships of unmarried individuals that intends to approximate the design, qualities, significance or effect of marriage.

:(

this doesn't just effect gay people. all of a sudden, i can't get health insurance under brian's policy because we aren't married. all civil unions get thrown out the window.

it pisses me off that people are allowed to write this shit the way they do...i KNOW for a fact that there were people out there who only read the first line of that statement up there and made their decision.

ugh. we REALLY have to move now.

If it makes you feel any better, Glow, I did my part to try and throw that fucking ammendment out, too. It just disgusts me how bigotry is what has won most of the major elections this year. Damn white evangelical bigoted bastards. You should definitely move away from this fucking state. I am as soon as I can.

you're only concerned about leaving the state?

Leaving the country seems a little drastic at this moment, simply because we are guarenteed to not have Bush in office next time, and it is hard to imagine someone worse than that getting into the office in four years.

Bush himself isn't the problem, it's the fact that he gets to appoint several Supreme court justices for life and has control of all the legal houses.

And is isn't even really THAT so much as I'm apparently in a country populated by a majority of morons.

I was compltetly against it, too. But I'm too small and insignificant to vote ;_;

I agree with Karen 100% "Who does this help" is the number one quote on these forums. I think it's ridiculous that all these people voted for gay marriage to suck an egg. Here's how I imagine an interview with one of those voters would have gone down.

"Excuse me ma'am. Why did you vote to keep gay marriage in far far away land?"

"Well, I don't think marriage is for people of the same sex. Marriage is for a man and a woman to have."

"So then who does this hurt if a man and a man COULD get married?"

"Well.....I don't think it really....well..ya know."

"No I don't...care to inform me?"

"I have a pizza in the oven at home. I have to go. bye."

"There ya have it folks. People who hate gay marriage also have intent to burn down their own houses. Back to you, Frank."
