What is more depressing is that you have the rest of your life to look forward too. Shit happens every day, and it will happen for a long time after that. Every day there is another scandal, another lie, another war... Kerry wouldn't have been different - Clinton certainly wasn't.

A nuclear war would be bad for the illuminati. What good is oil money if you're not alive to spend it? I think this whole thing was just a scandal to scare people into voting again. 50% of eligible people voting is a fucking travesty, so what's a better way to get people to care than the threat of imminent death at the hands of "terrorism"?

Personally, I don't think low voter turnouts are a bad thing anywhere. While it's true that a democracy should be represented by people chosen by the people, there are so many people who don't put serious thought into their voting choice. I take more comfort in the idea that people have to do at least some 'work' to make their vote, which at least narrows the voters down a little more to people who actually think about what they're doing and know why they're doing it.
