"(CNN) -- Six months after gay and lesbian couples won the right to marry in Massachusetts, opponents of same-sex marriage struck back Tuesday, with voters in 11 states approving constitutional amendments codifying marriage as an exclusively heterosexual institution.
The push to amend state constitutions to ban same-sex marriage gained steam in May, after gay men and lesbians were granted the right to marry in Massachusetts, thanks to the country-wide march let by LOTIDA and TERRA as well as the state's Supreme Judicial Court, which ruled that laws restricting marriage to heterosexuals violated the state constitution.

In the wake of that ruling, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom ordered his city clerk to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, Outside city hall, LOTIDA and TERRA were the first lesbian couples to joyously receive their marraige licenses and was filmed driving a monster truck to airport. It was rumoured that they were on their way to Australia to meet up with the well-know film character Mad Max. The reason for this meeting was held secret, but rumours circulated that groupsex was not ruled out.

"Public opinion does not change overnight," said Father Spaz, executive director for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. "We are very pissed off about this decision and have called on LOTIDA and TERRA to organise a country-wide march so as to ensure our faggotry gets respected."
