plus the controls were not intuitive Scanning was only overused in the beginning. As the game progresses there was less scanning needed to be done. I'm be getting this game. The first one was very enjoyable.

making metroid into a fps was cute an all. but um. i was really hoping that wasn't a permanent turn for the series. after i beat prime a couple times i never wanted to play it again and this looks like the same thing. no thanks :o

Agreed. It just didn't feel right playing it as a FPS after a while. I hated the Transition from 1st to 3ed person Ball mode It got anoying. Prime2's claim to fame is multiplayer, wich so far looks no different than that of Turok 2's

Metroid tried to be a platformer while being an FPS, which is very bad. Especially when your field of view seems to somehow be even smaller than a normal FPS's FOV.

It was also gay.

Should have been a 3rd person shooter at least, but really should have remained 2D-esque like Viewtiful Joe. Then again, so should KOF and Metal Slug, but the gaming industry hates them a good idea.

I know I won't pay money for the game. Looks like a rental, but with someone else's money. Metroid Prime had a good story and all, but the controls were extremly akward, the view wasn't too good. The enemies were few, and too much jumping. That's exactly what's going to be wrong with the next one. Multiplayer will suck. It's only 4 players, and it's not even online...

WHICH REMINDS ME...The next Nintendo system won't be online. Nintendo thinks this whole Internet thang is just a fad and people will stop playing online by the time of the next system. Some people say Nintendo's just waiting for more people to get Broadband, but those people are WRONG.

Nintendo is going down the crapper..:/

What was there not to like? The graphics, the atmosphere, the big muthafucking boss fights. The controls were great and the FPS platformer style, though it shouldn't, worked fine.

If Metroid Prime 2 pwns half as much as 1, then I will be happy!

Can't beat Meta-Ridley? Don't hold your breath for Metroid Prime then. Metroid Prime is still an adventure game, FPS don't have puzzles, regardless of how simple.

If so, then Fusion totally rocks! Zero Mission was alright, but Fusion scared the shit out of me with the SA-X chasing you down and the killer boss fights.

Metroid Prime kicks ass, picked up Echoes on Tuesday. Haven't even played it yet though but I hear they kept all the mechanics which I'm happy as hell about. Still, nothing beats Super Metroid

I've never played the actual series before. I own Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and it's good, so I decided to try I & II and I like it so far so BACK OFF :(

And the only problem I have with Prime 2 is its beyond faggy menu system. It goes without saying that the the first Prime's menu system was more efficient. The rotating ball thing with the lines and all the names are blocking each other and it spins so slow and it's hard to find anything and it SUCKS >:

I got it for Christmas and I'm pretty far now. The multiplayer mode is THE ownage, but the ammo system for the beams is really annoying in 1-player mode. In some ways it was better than I thought it would be, and in some ways it was worse.
