Yeah, but she's one of the trickier ones to learn. At least for me. I keep trying to stay Zelda through the whole match just to prove that I can do it without resorting to Sheik, but Zelda herself is rather difficult to use effectively.

I'm almost always Sheik, since they have the same moves and all. But Sheik is less floaty.

I still really am not fond of the game. I think it should have been tacked on as a feature in Mario Party, as it really doesn't feel like it has a lot of substance. But I'll try not to bash it too much.

I beat all my friend's target time trial records with every character too. I got them all under 1 minute. He was sad. :)

Characters other people like, like Zelda or Link, I don't like because they don't have the ability to KO someone right away. Link has to wail on someone for a long time before his smash attack sends them flying. :/

Even when the other persons damage is at zero, you can still KO someone in one hit with Roy, or the Ice Climbers, or Ness, or Dr. Mario, or Donkey Kong

I'm so good with Roy and Donkey Kong that people I play with don't let me play as them any more because it's not possible for me to lose any more :(

Words cannot express my hatred for peach and those fucking pokemon..really, Wario or something would have been alot better than ANOTHER FUCKING POKEMON. Take jigglypuff out or something. Is it just me or has melee been tampered with a little too much? the fighting system just isn't as fun compared to the original. Also, Every character seriously sucks dick soup at SOMETHING, which is both good and bad. Captain Falcon was definitely my favorite in the original, but he has a tendency to fuck up a little too much due to his speed in melee. Donkey Kong is my new favorite for melee.

Although that does remind me of a good point: I was kind of pissed at the amount of clones in SSBM. Although it's annoying that Falco and Fox, Pichu and Pikachu, Link and Young Link, Roy and Marth, Mario and Dr. Mario, and Roy and Marth all the have same moves, I don't mind that because the ability levels are different. Roy is much, much better than Marth. Dr. Mario's up and B attack is one of the strongest attacks in the game, as is Falco's down and B attack, and both attacks are much better than the same attacks in the original characters.

What does piss me off, however, is that Nintendo just got lazy. Why the fuck did they put in both Young Link and Link and Mario and Dr. Mario? They could have thought up SOME other character, couldn't they? Goddamn Nintendo >:

The thing you have to remember about Melee is that they shifted a lot of the focus from offensive play to defensive play, which goes against the idea of it being a party game, but enhances the experience overall.

As for the "clones," well, I wasn't that upset at their inclusion because I figured these minor variations were better than none at all. Young Link would've been intolerable if his moves weren't so different. Dr. Mario got to me a little, I would've rather had Toad for fuck's sake. There are hundreds of those fuckers, let Peach keep a few tucked up her skirt while a couple more sign up for active duty. SMB2 showdown is set to go. If they had put in Wario I would've been restless without Waluigi, though.

I also would've liked more items, and, though they did make some nice improvements, the number of games they can take items from in contrast with the number of items in the game makes me grumpy.

I hate to say it, but Pikachu has some of the best smash attacks in the game.

He does that little electric breakdance for the down + A, a good up-kick for the up + A, and his little forward electric shock is great beacuse he can't be hit and knocked out of it while doing it.

He's also the best recovery character in the game.... (that quick attack is very good)

Some characters are just hidden gems :(

Peach is an offensive powerhouse. She has some of the best smash attacks in the game. She's especially devestating if you turn the damage ratio up to 2.0.

And yes, when we play Smash Brothers we don't allow anyone to be Roy, because when ANY of us plays as Roy, Roy wins by a huge margin every time. I, also am not allowed to be Donkey Kong for the same reason.

And I can still beat all of you with Jigglypuff, no matter who you are playing as. I own with Jigglypuff. Jigglypuff's up throw and down B attack rule >:

Bobo, I figured something out with Donkey Kong.

If you use the smash + B attack to headbutt someone into the ground, you can do the down + B attack to tack on some major damage, and they won't be able to do a thing about it.

But you probably already knew about that trick anyway :(

And Sheik isn't as good as Zelda. Sheik's offense is really low, she has a lot of attacks and is really fast but her attacks don't do much damage, plus she's tied for the worst throw move with Marth and Roy.

Saying you're better with Marth than Roy is stupid. All of the clones in the game only differ in strength and speed. Marth is faster than Roy, but he's a lot weaker. And the speed difference isn't even that great, cause Roy is still fast as hell.

Robo, unless you're champing against easily frustrated paraplegics, you won't be able to score with DK's Down + B from Smash + B.

I think with DK his headbutt is towards + B, and if you get a direct hit it lodges the other person into the ground, and if you do it really good you can wail on them for a few seconds and they can't move, so you can get their damage up by at least 50 percent points by that, but you might as well just grab them, pick them up and throw them off the end of the level.

I just got Mr. Game and Watch today, and just for fun, I used Mewtwo's little charge-up ball thing on him while I used G&W's down + B attack to suck it up, and then I used it on mewtwo, and killed him with one hit :eek.

"Cruel Melee" is always a delightful romp. :) The best I could ever get was 3 kills by using Donkey Kong's ground slap over and over.

To unlock whatever you need to unlock from Cruel melee, you only need to get like 7 kills or something, but my score was a lot higher. With Roy, I got something like 40. Some ungodly amount.

Mewtwo has an amazing high learning curve. It really takes some practice to get used to playing with him, but then he's like one of the two best players in the game. Behind only Roy. >:

Whenever I fight them, they hit me over the side of the level, and then they all go together in some kind of edge hugging orgy and hit me off again when I try to get back on the level.

The Ice Climbers' smash attack is brutal, especially when both of them hit someone at the same time. They can't always KO someone with one hit, but their smash attacks can do it alot more often than a lot of other people's smash attacks. Their smash attack is almost as good as Roy's.

On damage ratio 2.0 Dr. Mario's up+b upper cut thing is just as effective as a one hit kill attack as Roy's holding down b charging attack. Same with Falco's down+b attack. They also work just dandy on damage ratio 1.0, but damage ratio 2.0 is more fun so that's all that counts. >:

I play mainly with DK though because I suck at the gamecube version and since I can't beat my friend who plays as Gannon I just grab him and kill us both by jumping off the edge when my health is high and hes on a new life. Its more fun than losing because hes actually better than me. :)

In Smash bros. for 64 though, Fox was unbeatable if played correctly. Not so in Melee...Falco was dissapointing.

Pickachu was second best. The first one was all about how quickly you could win in a mid air kick duel or in a grounded throw duel. Fox was much more nimble for when he needed to evade and re-place himself and his recover time from executing a fialed move was very very low.

Pickcachu had a much longer recovery time after doing a move which made it very easy for fox to dodge him then run back and throw him. The only advantage pickachu had was his up+b teleport move and his greater power, which all in all didn't help against fox's speed and manuverability.

I was Sheik, he was a level 9 DK

Donkey Kong touched me once. I killed him in under half a minute.

Now I know the computer is gay and can never fight as well as a human player, but I just don't see what's so great about DK.

If you play with him enough, you can judge how long you can carry someone before they get free, and you can time it so you can grab them, carry them, and throw them off the edge of the screen. Just use whatever characters the computer randomly picks, and play the tournament with one person always being player one and the other person always being player two.

It's fun as hell, and a good way to kill an hour. >:

I've only seen him use Fox once, and that was in his "Wavedashing" tutorial video... he was seriously amazing.

He says he has two hours of recorded play, but doesn't have the webspace to host it. I guess we're all going to have to wait until he deletes these videos and shows us the good stuff.

I've spent more time in my life playing video games than I have reading and sleeping combined.
