The Red cross says we used techniques 'tantamount to torture' at Guantanao as recently as June of this year. Meanwhile we have been using an unregistered plane to fly detainees to countries that enagge in torture.

While I'm hesitant to post at all up in here, I'm wondering if this is the American Red Cross or the International one?

Why would it make a difference?

Because the international one is out to get us like everyone else, so of course they'd say that. Rolleyes emoticon.

It is the international, but I doubt the American branch would be any softer. They might be better about not leaking the information in their reports, since the Red Cross maintains credability through confidentiality (supposedly) but I bet the content of their reports is pretty much the same.

This really makes the whole "Abu Gharib was just a couple of bad eggs acting on their own" story a bit less credible, doesn't it?

Why would it make a difference?
I had a good friend once that worked for the ARC, and during a spirited conversation where I ignorantly confused the opinions of the two organizations he set me straight on their true relationship.
I ask because it helps me to understand the nature of the information presented. Well, that and I wanted everyone to know I have at least one cool friend in hopes you'd all be impressed by that...
