I have noticed that my life seems to be passing by more quickly the older I get. I remember when I was a younger lad, I had summer days that seemed to go on forever. I wouldn't be Kellychaos if I didn't examine this life phenomenon more closely. That being said, I offer you some theories on the matter as to the why of life passing by more quickly with age:

1. I've reached the top of the hill and I'm going downhill now. Faster, faster, faster!

2. I can buy alcohol now and forget half of my days due to binge drinking. Thusly, blackout days are non-temporal.

3. It's sort of like driving. Get ready for dumb analogy. The first time you drove you were trying to take in everything and were rather nervous. Gradually, little things fall away and you focus where you need to focus and the drive seems shorter. Bleh!

4. As your metabolism slows down the rate of everything else stays the same yet subjectively seems the same to you. Did you ever see those really old people in the mall at Christmas. Dazed and confused.

That, and you have to look toward the future, working, schooling, living it up.

I doubt you remember it, but childhood was boring... and that was why it seemed so long. Sure, you did things, and exciting things, but those where bright flashes in an otherwise dark time.

It's because they put mustardgas in the water. Freezes your brain.

Glad I wasn't hanging out with you as a kid, Mr Childhood-is-a-dark-time. Mine was a reet laff.

my childhood was pretty wonderbread, to say the least.

I also have my computer taking in data, i.e. tabla rosa, analogy of a child's brain. When you have a lot of information to take in, of course it's going to seem like the life experience of a day is infinite. Scratch that. I suck. Think whatever you want.
