I like these photographs a lot. I think the colour job on the girl is needless and too leading.

I like the last 3. I don't see what's very interesting about the first man or the things behind him, honestly.

i thought so too, but then again, it just looked better that way.

i dunno, i've got half a mind not to, because i'm really wondering why. i see her a lot on the bus, and in some way it wouldnt feel right distributing full size pictures of her to people on the internet.
so gimme a reason.

Though, resized and recolored pics put on a public message board are a-ok!
I like your photos though, and I like public transportation!

yes, they are, because it's not as big (wierd, but works for me).. and plus i didnt consider it before, not thinking that people would want more than to just look and leave a blurb.
i just really want to know why.
carl comes stumbling out of starbucks and tells me "one paper says the troops are coming in and the other tells em they're shipping out! ho ho ho! welcome to the country!"
then proceeds to tell me french military history and wine making. which was appropriate i guess, coz i'm french :/

Is the guy in the first one collecting parts for his time machine? :eek

I actually want the picture just 'cause it fits my desktop perfect. I dunno if you've seen my whole configuration, but it's a dark blue and white and for forever I've been looking for a good blue and white picture with a spot where I can put Avedesk icons, and that's what I'd use the white in the windows for. It'd be perfect for me, if you'd be willing to share ;o

Now do you tell people that you're gonna photograph them or do you just take pictures and leave them out of it completely. Cuz this girl in our class took a picture of a person on the el that was sleeping but felt horribly guilty and woke him up and told him what she did and he was cool with it. I'm not up to date on art ethics :(

You should probably tell someone that you're photographing them. If you're a pussy with a weak conscience.

i think the problem with the first one is that there isn't a real point of focus. the whole snap is soft. i like the desat job, though...although i'm not quite sure why you kept the yellow so prominent. it's my least favorite.
the second is nice. you know that.
the third is a good street portrait. it's not as uncomfortable as the others because you really know that he knows that he is being photographed.
the last is my favorite. love what you did with the blues/greens contrasting with the sickly orange of dude's skin. the composition is spot on. plus there's an air of mysteriousness around this guy with his back to you and his strange attire. you should print this one.

there's no point of focus for the first one because i hate my camera when it thinks it's helping out by having a slow shutter. i took five pictures of that man, and that's the least blurred one (and also the best expression on him.)
the second i think is too easy, like helm said, but i like it more and more.
i really really llike the last one too, though the first one is still my favorite. barely... i mean, who desnt love carl?
three more done yesterday:

dont know if this is really going anywhere, but i like the hunched back and beret. i guess it's mediocre next to good photos, but i still like it myself.

trouble making the yellow stand out. dont know if it or the subject matter was worth it...

i'm hella keeping this. technically i got permission... for the first photograph... this was the fifth. kinda hard to pull off

again, i like what you are trying to do with the colors. the first one works in this respect, as it seems you are trying to limit your palette. it has a nice effect.
merp on the second :( sowwy.
the third is great. i have a pretty nice photoshop action for converting digital colors to black and white (complete with film grain). let me know if you would like to have it. it has options for different types of b&w films.
ps: i like the grain in the last shot.

A couple of them reminded me of an article I read in Bizarre magazine about a new fetish for women wearing headphones.
I liked these photos by the way. What's not to like about the first one? It's awesome, I love spooky old people. Whatever coloring you're doing doesn't seem to make that much difference to me. Maybe if I saw an unaltered version of one.
