Jump over his head and land on the axe behind him. Mario will use the axe to cut the ropes supporting the bridge, and it will collapse under bowser's weight, thus dunking him into the lava. Or, if you want points, hit him with fireballs until he croaks.

I actually have a question for this thread. I'm stuck in the second level on Battletoads for the NES, and there's this pihrana plant-like thing that I can't kill no matter how much I kick it. I could kill the other ones just fine, but I don't know what the deal with this one is.

The worst boss is the backflipping whores from the boat level in the original SOR. I usually time from out of time then actually getting any damage from them.

I can still beat the first one on my Genesis... the second one is much more difficult though. I played it last year with a friend and we couldn't beat it.

One other thing that must be stated is that the music in the SOR series is fantastic. It was composed by Yuzo Koshiro who did the music for Revenge of Shinobi. Also, a lot of sound effects from Revenge of Shinobi were used in the SOR games (bonus sound effects, level clear music, etc.).

The music is one of the best in videogames.

I can beat 1 and 2 on my genesis. But not 3, the fathest I got in that on Genesis is the part where Mr. X turns out to be a robot and laughs at you because you put it on Easy, and you have to fucking start over.

It's fun when the last boss in SOR1 sends you back to the previous level... Oh wait, no, that pissed me off!
