When you die, you don't 'lose' xp, but you accrue debt. Any XP you get from that point on goes 50% towards xp and 50% towards paying off XP debt. Once you're redeemed you level up at the normal rate.

One thing I don't get, in reviews it says you cannot change your character after you make him, but can you make a new character?

It's a lie; I read that too before played. There's a tailor shop in Steel Canyon where you can change your outfit, plus you get an alternate outfit at level 20, then another at 30, then another at 40. Plus, if you join a supergroup, you redesign your costumes to have the supergroup's colors and logo, and then whenever you enter supergroup mode you switch to that costume.

So, about 8 costumes in total you can switch between plus you can change any of them. Steel Canyon's a bit hardcore though so if you're not level 14 or so you'll get your ass kicked by the locals if you aren't careful ;<

What do you mean by slow down? As in can my computer handle or, or does it get harder to level, or what?

It gets harder to level after level 10, but from 10 on you can go to 'task forces' which are several-hour-long missions that you take with a group of 4 or more people. You can't bring anyone else in on the group until the TF is over, but the experience is incredible ;<

There's also a nightclub that I can't believe I haven't posted pictures of yet, it's in Steel Canyon.

well you were also a tanker, which is the most boring class known to christ

blaster are way fun, but yeah, the only thing you do in the game is kill bad guys with friends. then again, that's what most online games are about. the thing i like about coh is that it is comparatively uncomplicated and easy to play for 2 hours a day an then move on to other crap.

* oh and also at later levels the story does go beyond "hey someone's doing something evil here stop them! ok, thanks, now someone else is doing crap here!" - missions start having story arcs and you get clues and souvenirs from successful arcs; i was just on a 10+ mission tour of getting to the BOTTOM of the freakshow shenanigans and i still haven't gotten to their leader, Dreck ;< Though i did break up the freaklympics and stop them from making friends with like a billion other gangs ;<

* also! issue 4 is coming which'll have face morphing, supergroup collaborating, and the pvp arena. which should heat things up a bit :o

Issue 4 is out now. They have a PVP arena and all sorts of character customization options available with face and body morphing - Like in the WWE Smackdown series, you can now set jaw size, cheekbone size, etc. and it really helps to further stylize the characters.

The problem is, there are still only a handful of actual textured faces to choose from, and all the new ones are artistically wholly different from the rest, so they look very strange. Not very many new costume pieces have been added, either.

I haven't actually sat down and played in months. Not quite sure if I will again, but Guild Wars is looking kinda neat, so I'd like to try that. They ended their first COH Comic Book series (spectacular last issue, by the way) and have moved into their second, which has WAY better art and a darker feel to it. These comics are at comic shops nationwide, so I recommend picking up the new Issue 1. It's a little short, though.

I'm not sure what's more fun about this game, actuallly playing it or just messing around with the character creation.

COH has a bunch of good strong points - Character generation, Fun combat, And living cities are all awesome things. :> Where it falls short is where 99% of MMOS are lacking - High-level grinds for XP and every combat situation being the same. There are rarely tactics in a mission beyond drawing/teleporting enemies out to be slain. COH differs in this area slightly when you involve controllers and some of gangs that require special treatment (Sky Raider jets and Freaks in general), but overall it's a grind, and a repetitious one at that. Further complicating COH is the fact that the classes are woefully unbalanced; I haven't played PVP in it yet, but I imagine it's just fire tanker vs. fire tanker battles ad nauseum.

Travel abilities should come WAY sooner than 14th level. The sidekick system is great, but it's useless if the lower level character is under 14 because no-one over that will want to play with your slow ass (unless you can teleport them).

Some of the stories are fun, but the instanced missions are all VERY similar to each other, and differ only in text bubbles from some core NPCs of said mission.

Character generation is the best of any MMO out there, but still a ways from the detail of the WWE Smackdown series. Also, while you can make your character look unique, everyone runs, jumps, fights, and does emotes exactly the same. It's also robust in parts that are really unnecessary (23409 versions of a one-piece dress and tattoos), but severely lacking in essential character-defining parts (faces, hats).

Overall, it's a really fun game, but is accidentally designed to wear on you faster than it should.

Me and my sister had just came down with a cold and so mom let us stay home so we decided to play CoH (city of hereos) Me and my sister are having alot of fun playing cit of hereos but then thes to grade A hobos come in and start following us arund and just generally being threatning to us so we try to get away from them in a mish (misson) but then when came out of the missh they still theee so we try to run away to liberty city but the kwrks keep following us until we got so depressed we had to quit playing!!! Te guys were named greenradish and the sillver surfer, please ban them from the internet.
