the "stuff that metalmilitia wouldn't like" category. :(
i can't think of a good blanket term to describe it. he's got a good lounge feel in most of his songs, but they're also a bit electronic in their nature.most of the songs are very vocal and all are relaxing, while not being ambient. it's like a hybrid of electronic stuff and acoustic guitars and purty voices. The only way i can think of how to describe it is, "Hands Of Time" by Groove Armada. that's the only thing i can give that's even close to what this guy sounds like. :(
i'm making .zip files of his two CD's now, if anyone cares enough to talk to me over AIM and get them :x

I don't know why the hell I didn't see this thread sooner.
I love Zero 7... I only have the "Simple Things" album, but it's great stuff. Their sound is similar to that of Lemon Jelly and Air, and that's just one of the reasons why I like them so much.
"Out of Town" would probably have to be my favorite song... if you want to recommend me some other goodies by Zero 7, go ahead... I'm game.

You should pick up "When It Falls"...I actually like it more, which is weird. My favorite song is "The Space Between", but I forget which CD it was on.

chilled out group of downtempo electronica that seriously disappointed me with their last album, which, to me, sounded like Air's older brother who plays it cool but completely sexless. like the theivery corporation.

I love Somersault, though. :x
Thievery Corporation isn't bad, but I haven't heard too much from them (just the Glass Bead Game, which I really dislike). I'll check them out.
