I had this last week. I fucking hate stomach viruses. They are the worst thing ever.

Gatorade for the electrolytes. Yogurt for the asodopholus (sp?) ... i.e. live cultures. Maybe fiber powder to move things along ... and plenty of water. With that, usually it's gone in a day or so.

The bacteria in your upper and lower digestive system is eating away something called "flora" which is a habitating bacteria. This is more or less a live culture that assists in your digestive process and actually eats some of the carcinogens that we inadvertently ingest. When it is gone, your stomach acid will burn the lining of your stomach and if your still sick, you'll end up dry retching. It all boils down to an imbalance while your system is trying to recuperate.

There are electrolite drinks (such as Gatorade) and yogurt as kellychaos suggested but if it is very bad, you can go to your pharmacist and pick up packages of acidophyllus and this will help the flora grow back. Once this is done, your system will be able to stabilize.

If your g/f is also sick, I would stay away from her. You could be reinfected.

sounds like cruise ship virus/norfolk agent to me. It realluy sucks because you can't keep any food down (even if you don't eat you still puke), and your stomach hurts like mad. Last time I had it I puked into a cheap plastic trash can all day.
