And everyone's beef with the DS is JACK SHIT. Nintendo rises out of the ashes of it's defeat to own the gaming market once again!

agghh negative vibes.

why cant both (handheld) consoles be seen as good eh?

on one hand ds has castlevania and a groovy touch screen and on the other PSP has gta and has totaly sweet hardware

(its going to be hard for me not to get both eventualy)

I'm not interested at all by the DS. I tried playing on it, and it just felt awkward to me. I'm sure I'd get used to it, but I'm sure that I don't want to.

Might get a PSP. When the price drops considerably, of course. Then all the games'll be cheap, and it'll be like the Dreamcast. An awesome system that's awesomely cheap with awesome games. :o

THe only thing keeping me from getting the PSP right now is the price tag. The DS feels too akward to play a game with 3D conttrolls with a D-Pad, and it's stylus just screams "lose me"

If I rember correctly, The origional Playstation had a D-pad, and it worked just fine. :P

A D-pad that was quickly replaced with the Dual shock sticks.

Actually, my beef with the psp is that fact that it has near PS2 quality games. (by that, I mean most of PS2's lineup is shit)

DS is awkward at first, but you get used to it.

PSP shows *some* promise, but unless Sony learns from past mistakes when it comes to hardware (which they haven't, GameInformer confirmed that you can eject the disk simply by putting a slight twisting pressure on the system, like if you are really into a game).

The battery life is very off-putting, but another thing for me is that the PSP lacks any game I like! The Nintendo DS on the other hand has Super Mario 64 DS, which while more childish than anything on the PSP, looks like a much better game than the ones on Sony's handheld!!

I just hope that Capcom don't release Mega Man X9 on the PSP... Man, that would be harsh...

Sorry, but I thought that movie was very pointless and extremely short. Surely it could have lasted more than 7 seconds? 3/10

You can use the touch-screen on the DS without the stylus.

Actually, even IF he is pressing the eject button, that is another reason to find fault. The eject button should not be right next to the shoulder buttons. Poor planning on Sony's fault either way.

the_dudefather
Jan 17th, 2005, 04:56 PM
the eject button is a fair distance from the sholder buttons, and slides, so it is unlikely that you would accidently eject a game this way during normal gaming.

but there are cases of it ejecting psps when it is twisted, but these are rare

I am so pissed off at this west-coast, east-coast rivalry right now. I'll tell you how it is. They both suck. They both suck terribly. The nintendo ds is clunky, the d-pad is inresponsive, and the buttons are WAY too close together. The touch pad is a stupid idea. Playing Mario 64 ds is no fun in my opinion. Sure, you can play as more characters and they added some new stars. But really, I don't give a fuck. The controls are terrible. End of that.

The psp appearantly has lots of hardware issues. The games shoot out, it has a terrible battery life, and so on. The games now also are stinky. Aside from Gran Turismo and a few others, they have nothing. JUST LIKE THE FUCKING DS.

The pricetag for both are waaay too high for a casual gamer. Look at both lineups. Nothing special. Nothing that screams BUY ME. Aside from Castlevania, which I'm not really into anyway, I don't see anything for the DS. I don't know enough of upcoming PSP titles to really rant about, but I bet they too, will suck.

The SP is as far as I wanna go. Its all nostalgia for me. WHo the fuck wants to play Mario 64 with a smaller screen and a D-pad!? The games not that friggin old go play it on your N64, It would be cheaper to buy an N64 and Mario than it would to buy a DS

im northern-irish, living in scotland, so i am british, but no-one called me a limey before (as it tends to be reserved for the english instead of the british as a whole, to my knowledge).

anyways, is there any info on mario kart DS since last E3?
